Resist Fire Aura from Flickering Flame is not working on Merc

Flickering Flame is made into a Druid helm, and player wears it. A2 Merc is wearing Andy’s Helm (lower’s his Fire resist by 30)

The Resist Fire aura from Flickering Flame doesn’t work on Merc (out of Town), until I unequip it from my Druid for 1 second, and then re-equip it. If I just quickly unequip and re-equip, it still doesn’t work.

Sometimes, changing from one Act to another, the aura will stop working again, until I do the unequip and re-equip again.

Please fix this, it’s not fun to constantly check the Merc to see if he’s getting the aura or not.

Which level of Resist Fire aura does your Flicking Flame have?

The range of Resist Fire increases with it’s level. Flickering Flame can have a lvl 4 aura with a rather small range ; this might just be too small to always cover your wandering merc and pets.

It’s level 8 Resist fire. Merc is holding Infinity, Treachery, and Andy’s helm.

My Druid is wearing Enigma, so I teleport once to make sure Merc is right next to me and getting the aura. I also tried un-equip and re-equip Merc Infinity, due to the Conviction aura bug from TZ mobs, but it’s the same thing. It’ll only work after I un-equip Flickering Flame and re-equip it.

I have a screenshot here:

New game, and Merc is right next to me, and he’s not getting the aura.

Going by that screenshot none of your pets get Resist Fire aura too, which they should. I’ve never seen that happem so my best guess is that some of your equipment is interfering with Flickering Flame. I’d check by removing other gear one by one.

I am (the Druid) getting the aura, but not the Merc. I couldn’t check the Pets as they have no stat window, but they don’t show the aura ground effect.

Flickering flame in Hunter’s Guise

The flickering flame is made in Hunter’s Guise, pretty low strength requirement, so that’s not an issue. The Enigma is in Cuirass, strength requirement of 65, while the Hunter’s Guise is only 56. So I don’t have to depend on the Strength bonus from Enigma to wear the Flickering Flame.

I’m pretty sure it’s not my other equipment, they are pretty standard. If it is, then my Druid would probably not get the aura either, but it’s getting it. The issue does not always happen, but when it happens, to fix this:

(1) Re-equip the flickering flame (must wait at least 1 second before re-equipping)

(2) Go back to town and then go back to the field (it had worked a few times before, but I don’t always check this way, it’s time consuming, I usually just re-equip the helmet)

Lastly, let’s assume that it is indeed my other equipment that’s causing my merc not getting the aura. But when the Druid is getting it but the merc is not, then it’s obviously a bug, and it needs to be fixed. The burden shouldn’t be on the player to check merc stats every time they enter a battle field, or check what equipment they have that causes this to happen.

Additional details:

Act 4 River of Flame happens the most often.

Merc would be getting the Resist fire aura when I was doing some runs in Act 5. After I switched to Act 4 River of Flame WP, the aura would no longer be applied to the merc.

Video link here. Merc was getting the aura, then as I switched to A4 River of Flame, he no longer gets it, until after I re-equip the helmet.
