Has anyone had any success rerolling a Magical Monarch into a Jeweler’s Monarch with 4 open sockets? I’m under the impression that when you reroll, the game basically creates a new item like if it just dropped in game, so it should be possible to reroll a shield with sockets from one without.
It’s possible if your Monarch’s ilvl is high enough (77, apparently?).
But the odds are astronomically low. Did some googling and the number I’m seeing is 1:15000. You could go through 45,000 pgems and not get it and that still wouldn’t be a statistical outlier.
May as well go for it if you don’t need the pgems for anything else, but set your expectations low…
Yea… I have one I keep in my stash and just reroll it when I get some gems… nothing else to do with them anyways. But every chance is a possiblilty, and I don’t often find any blue monarchs, so it’s easier to reroll then it is to try to farm them.
I’ve read somewhere that the monarchs are all the same ilvl so it doesnt matter if it dropped off baal or cows (or it had something to do with the lvl req for prefix and suffix, but ye - simply put - every monarch has a chance of rolling jmod). Im rerolling one and am about 200 pgems in. According to the info mehbattletag gave - that leaves me with only 44,800 pgems more to roll (statistically). Seems cool enough 
i dont understand why you would want this over a 4os white one especially given then insane expected cost
They could just do this in the meantime, of course. Facets are very rare (to self-find at least), but they’ll probably come across another set in the time it takes to roll a jmod anyway… if they ever successfully do.
just realized the magic one would have more stats than simply the sockets added
The other stat is the ‘d’, Deflecting, in jmod, yes. Helps with max block. It’s just insanely rare.
Because their trade value for those that want them are in the “large number of BERs” catagory… and why wouldn’t you want to try for an item that you are using worthless items to try for? It’s basically free to try once you find a blue monarch, and it helps keep your stash clear of all the excess gems.
as mentioned in this thread, i didnt realize it would have more stats beyond the sockets with it. makes sense to me now
Rerolling for JMOD is the same mentality as getting lottery tickets.

D2R is basically a casino simulator
