Hello all.
Trying to understand this reroll & I cant really find anything online which tells me that is right or wrong.
Lets say that I have found this Collosus Blade & it is blue which is magical. If I add 3 chipped gems, it rerolls the stats to new stats.
My question is…is it possible to reroll it to 4 socket ETH Collosus Blade none magical…I mean as a white/grey eth 4 socket Collosus Blade.
Diablo 2 is calling…TIME TO DIE…DIE.
Thank you for reading this.
Nope. The 3 chipped gems is always magical, lower ilvl. Runewords wont work in magical socketed items. Also, cant reroll to etheral items or plain white items.

Is their a way to reroll plain white or eth items with gems?
No, the only way to get a white base is to find it from enemies, chests/breakables or at a vendor, but vendor items after Act 2 normal are magic so that limits the bases you can get.
If you get a non superior base without sockets you can add a random number of sockets using the cube recipe. You can’t use that recipe to add sockets to a socketed item, so if you don’t get the number you wanted, you have to try again with a new base.
If abase drops superior you can only add sockets using the Larzuk quest, and that always gives maximum sockets the item level and base type.
