Repeatable rewards

Been thinking about this and was wondering why not just have some quest rewards be more repeatable?
Now I’m not suggesting you can do quests over and over but that the NPC “unlocks” a new option, for a price of course.

Say we take Anya and her ability to “customize” an item by slapping your name on it.
So after saving her and getting a one off freebee she will charge with gold to repeat the processes.

Similar idea with Charsi and Laruk but obviously charging way more gold for the service.
The game difficulty would be a limit on the level of the item they could work on.

Totally agree that we should have ways to have more of them

Often suggested it

1)It could be a token that drops randomly from monsters, pushing people to clear rather than just boss farm

  1. it could be monsters dropping body parts which you can cube for a token

  2. could be just standard of heroes

Also, Anya is less interesting because let’s be honest… personalize is useless crap, but if it gets reworked to change the appearance of items… then it would be on par with the 2 others

Thanks for the input. Those could be interesting as well.
I see it as an alternative use for gold outside of just gambling.

I can see some benefit in trading certain resources like gold or runes/gems for repeating certain quests, but the only quest that would be realistic for is the naming one.

Charsi’s quest allows you to turn a white item into a rare, and everyone would be spamming circlets/tiaras on that if it was repeatable. Likewise, the socket quest would lose all its value. You wouldn’t be able to offer the socket quest as a trade for something like a rush, and there’s already a cube recipe to socket uniques with the use of an soj.

Those kinds of quests should not be repeatable. In fact it’s hard to suggest that any quests should be repeatable aside from the naming one

you got to find the circlets you want to imbue. and you need to find the resources to imbue them. if you can buy repeatable imbues then the price should be high enough that you can’t just spam it easily. you can also re roll rare items using 6 perfect skulls.

i´d been thinking along these lines too lately…

maybe over time quests can regerate, maybe only on one difficulty though?

after 20 years it is starting to get old doing new chars that you have to do, for some rewards.

Yes exactly, if its too easy to use then just make it more expensive.

It’s not too hard to find the items to imbue though. If you seal pop in chaos hell difficulty, you can find tiaras and coronets aplenty. I found three white ones in a single game once. And yes, you can reroll them with P Skulls, but that lowers the quality. I think rerolling with a higher quality also takes an soj.

Just like how you can repeat the respec reward with a token by gathering the essences, you can reroll/socket items with an expensive soj. I don’t really see repeatable quests being a thing

does anyone even use soj for that on lod? from what i understand it’s to expensive to be used in lod and only ever really used on classic mode. because classic doesn’t even have larzuk. 6 perfect skulls doesn’t seem to be a reasonable price for normal or nightmare re rolls while leveling. and it would be nice to socket some crappy unique’s you find while leveling too without wasting the Larzuk quest. you probably spend a few of them on spirit or insight to get that quick end of normal super power.

Imbue would be a good one to spend a few hundred k gold on to do-over.

True, sojs are rare. And I doubt many people use them for socketing. But that doesn’t stop people from using them to summon dclone. Even if you didn’t spend any sojs to summon him, there are sojs out there enough for people to vendor them for the event. So, why not use one for a socket?

well. most people will only want to sell soj to vendor as long as it’s worth it. target farming for soj will take much much much longer time then to rush a character to larzuk. taking only a few min. and you would especially never use a soj ever to socket a normal crappy unique item or rare. and that’s probably fine for most that just zooms past it. but for new players that progress slow or people just taking their time with it would probably love to buy sockets from larzuk. even if it’s limited to normal mode or nightmare mode items.

That brings up a point about just getting someone like a friend to rush a mule through normal to get Larzuk socket. Takes a few minutes and shared stash makes whatever item easily accessible. I just don’t think you should make the quest repeatable.

Having a 2nd account and then spending 10+ minutes for a normal rush is better than a repeatable quest?

You probably also think the 20 hero limit per account is set too high.

This would kill Classic farming…

Why is that?

Easier to get 181+ ED weapons off imbue than farming Act 4 Hell. Bases can drop starting NM and you only need to be level 67 to potentially roll weapons with both Merciless and Kings prefix.

Yes I was thinking the same.
I would really increase the use of gems and jewels.

the imbue quest is one I can think of,the socket quest would be another cool one but possibly after the first socket quest it limits you to a single socket after.

Less then maximum sockets or even random amount might be a good alternative.
Thx for the suggestion.
