can the developers please take a look at getting rid of grid control movement of characters , there is absolutely no reason for grid control movement of characters ,even for a classic game like diablo 2 and by all accounts if u can do free style movement for diablo 3 old tristram season 25 u can most certainly do it for this game .
issue with this is you would end up breaking alot of this game. due to how the grid works. there is other things tied to the grid other than movement
Could you expound on this “Grid Movement” thing? I’m asking sincerely as I’ve never heard of it?
the entire game is built on a giant checkers board basically, your movement is locked to a grid.

but a lot of the game would break if you changed the grid system, it really would be like making an entirely new game.
Projectiles would need to be reworked
abilities, monsters, and spells would all need to be given actual hit/hurt boxes
movement would need to be redesigned
even something as simple as items dropping on the ground would likely need changes.
If you was inspired by movement with controller, I have bad news for you: they implemented fake offset for acheiving that. Your “smooth” controller movement still follows the same grid. Grid is a part of the core and can not be changed ever, just like 24 frame per sec logic update.
Diablo 1 and two use a grid. Think of D&D grid. D2 uses this grid for movement skills and alot more is tied to the grid. Such as AI aggro range ect.
Alot of Diablo was based on how D&D worked in some ways
People often say the DnD grid but its like a chess board. Monsters of one sides pieces, you are the other sides chess pieces.
Guy wants to remove the board for whatever reasons.
