Gems don’t need runes to be upgraded
It would be much more fun and convenient to just merge multiple of the same rune to get the upgrade rather than being forced to find a useless gem to go along with them
Edit: or just remove the over specificity of it and instead of “flawed diamond” it’s just “any diamond”
Agreed. Might as well make all runes require two for an upgrade as well. If we’re going to be limited on how many characters we can make, this is one way to ease that restriction.

It would simplify the rune upgrading process, making it a lot less of a hassle to cube up runes.
I’ve been wanting this on the official servers for a while. I mentioned it on the old forums a while back, of course it got drilled into the ground by naysayers. 
They should do this. Its just more busy work to upgrade a dam rune. I am not a no lifer. I dont have time for that.
Stacking gems would fix this really. However, they’re almost 10x more likely to remove it from the recipe i’d be happy either way.

Finding the runes AND a particular quality of a particular color of gem is so tedious and I don’t feel it adds anything to crafting.
There should already be fewer tiers of gems, and they shouldn’t be needed in rune upgrades.

It’s time to simplify the rune upgrade process. 2 of the same rune = 1 +1 rank rune. Applies to all runes (save Zod), and no gem requirements.

Would much rather have stackable gems/runes, lets say to 20? each, maybe a ingame cube recipe book that lists all the combos and has the ability to auto add them to cube for quick recipe use. Being able to search stash tabs by name would be a boon to vs looking at wall of icons going cross eyed.
I’d be happy if they just added new recipes to the cube that break one gem into three it’s lower rank equivalent.
