this is ridiculous. we re in 2022 and it is diablo 2 Resurrected. Pixel is important. strength requirement is enough. i don’t want to walk like a turtle if i change my outfit for something prettier.
Take in consideration for 2.5, except if you want everybody in light plate.
Can you hear me , blizz?
Thank you
Or more realistically, how about better armor values? It’s weird that a 77str Dusk Shroud gets up to 467 defense and a 230str Shadow Plate gets up to 557 defense. How is a 150 str difference only made up by a 90 armor difference? Makes no sense. I’m for keeping the FRW penalty, but just make the armor values for heavier plate actually significant over something like a Dusk Shroud. If you’re investing 230 strength and sacrificing some FRW, you should be getting more than a measly +90 armor.
as i said, armor(defense atribute) system needs a rework mainly bc there is only one reason to use heavy armor, looks
My suggestion is to increase monsters phys dmg and turn defense into phys dmg reduction atribute
after that, you can keep your mspd/stamina penalties you seems to love
Those numbers might be a bit high. But I think something like 1-5% for med and 3-8% for high would make it interesting and provide a benefit worth thinking about.
Here’s the full list from Armor.txt. It doesnt actually work at all.
Code:
Breast Plate 1
Light Plate 1
Tower Shield 1
Cuirass 1
Mage Plate 1
Pavise 1
Great Hauberk 1
Archon Plate 1
Aegis 1
Field Plate 2
Full Plate Mail 2
Sharktooth Armor 2
Chaos Armor 2
Kraken Shell 2
Shadow Plate 2
Ancient Armor 5
Ornate Armor 5
Sacred Armor 5
And its a pathetic bonus anyway. For the mass strength that have to pump and sacrifice vita points you would get +5 DR absorb? They would need to make it at least 5x or 10x of whatever is on those armors to make them viable where you give up all that vita for the piddly pdr bonus…
Game needs transmog. Most models are wasted. They had artists spend a lot of time re-doing everything for D2R, some of the models have a lot of detail, but we hardly ever use that many of them.
As far as the speed penalty thing goes, I’m not sure why anyone would defend it when everyone tries to teleport or charge everywhere when possible. If we allow non-sorceresses to teleport, you really can’t justify an armor based speed penalty because of RP.
