Reminder to Diablo 4 devs: Unique items lettering is GOLD not orange

Diablo 1: gold Lettering

Diablo 2: Gold lettering

Then they got wowified to now be called Legendaries in diablo 3: orange lettering

In diablo 4

Unique items should have gold lettering

that’s the colour of Unique items

I don’t mind legendary affixed rare items to turn orange/Bronze

But Unique items are Gold

Respect the lore

Whys this turning into the Diablo IV forum - they need to make a forum for their new monetized ptw game and leave this forum for Diablo II res

Get more than an intern working in Diablo II res 1 day a week considering 5 million people bought it

Officialy D3 forums is the forum where they wait for (maybe even read) D4 feedback.

Because at this point, with lack of anything new and it being a 20 year old game, even prettier graphics for D2R isn’t going to keep it alive for much longer. Give it a year, maybe two tops, and the servers will be shut down or severely limited.

It also doesn’t help that the lobby sucks and the bots are practically outnumbering actual players 2 to 1.

i mean right now I’m not planning on buying d4 anyways, but i would kinda expect them to have a loot filter by now.

Yes please. And call them uniques.

Totally agree and it is already an issue with d2R. It’s sadly currently flat beige. Metal reflections make any metal display a non uniform tones. They think that gold or silver are flat colors.

This happens when User interface designers have not worked in photography, 3d rendering or simply observed their surrounding. Too many UI designers come from a web 2.0 background with too much emphasis on marketing

thats one of the many things i would had changed if modding d3 was a thing,

on the other side, d3 teal for ethereals was better than d2 gray

What colour better represents being transparent

Gray or teal?

Pretty obvious that being in between 2 plane of existence is a gray area

font color has nothing to do with items texture, all diablo games are full of examples of that

so i guess being socketed is a gray area too

i give you this, if they change socketed weapon to weapon (x) im happy and i swear to leave ethereals alone

tottally agree but pls write this post in d3forums because is really where there are more post about d4 and this post can be have very likes and i want read letters gold in d4.

always gray, sets green always, uniques (NO LEGENDARY) always gold, base always white and superior (eth, sup, crude) always gray.

Respect Diablo lore saga

don’t expect them to return to D2, the necro was almost the exact D3 necro with a phylactory and a scythe to swing at monster with.
I expect it to become a combination of D3, D Immoral and WoW, but with more grim graphics.

i dont give a damn about what “font lore” is suposed to be

I always felt that “rare” items and “unique” items had their names reversed on the Arreat Summit. These descriptions do not match the actual items in-game: there is nothing unique about having the same “Harlequin Crest Shako” as everyone else… but with the way rolls work, most yellow items are actually… unique :man_facepalming: .

Here is a good example that not every opinion is good… or smart

Uniques are called uniques because their original design was for them to drop maximum 1 copy per game

the proof of this is this bug fix of 1.09

Fixed a bug that allowed the same Unique to be spawned more than once in a game.

https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_1.09_(Diablo_II)

May i also add, thats why when you find 2 unique sacred armor in a game, you are certain that one will be tyrael and the other templar

That would be quite a day

Yes I agree. Let unique be GOLD and RUNES to be orange!

Unique’s shouldn’t be orange. Let runes be orange and unique to be gold
Otherwise, it’s bad design.

Not only bad design but also not respecting the established rules
