Bowazon build here. So it’s generally not recommended to use both at the same time as they overlap, but i’ve noticed my clear speed improve quite a bit with both of them and merc’s survivability skyrocket.
Amp procs often on my Strafer on targets that are far away that my merc can’t reach for example.
As for alternatives for the amu slot - I don’t need the extra 20% IAS on the amulet slot as it doesn’t reach the last breakpoint i’d want, so an extra 20% has no effect on the build i’m using. Highlord’s doesn’t seem attractive at all. I don’t get any benefit from the 20 IAS, i got plenty of light res already, +1 Skills barely has any effect on my phys Strafer. Deadly Strike? I already have 65% Crit. Strike.
Cat’s Eye is nice. I love it. But it plummets my clear speed wen i switch it from Atma’s Scarab.
Opinions? Is it dumb to use Reaper’s Toll and Atma’s Scarab both for a phys Strafer? Even though it is a substantial increase in clear speed and is generally much more fun for me to play?
If its more fun, then why not? I wouldnt do it though.
it’s only fair to change amplify damage to stack with decrepify for physical characters benefit. but only if it’s from different character / merc’s. since elemental characters can stack conviction aura with lower resist to break immunities for insane damage.
You clearly figured out that it’s not dumb. Congrats on not blindly following guides
Sounds like Atma’s Scarab might be your best bet. As for your mercenary’s setup not sure if using reapers is the best but it’s probably a good option since either amp or decrep will proc consistently.
Well, it doesn’t sound like a good idea give that they don’t stack, but damn i was surprised at how much more smoother the experience is for my phys Strafer bowazon.
Yep, amp procs at almost every enemy that my merc can’t reach, and for the enemies that the merc reaches they’re slowed down to oblivion by Decrep just enough time for them to die.
Overall a substantial increase of clear speed in areas infested with phys immunes, and so much fun to play.

If you can, try a pride on the merc.
