Real money ruined this game

I know many with converse on the other side of this subject, but in my opinion and many others, the trading aspect of real money has caused this game to be geared towards Jsp platforms or other online websites that sell items. This greatly depreciates the value of in game trading and makes for it near impossible to just Farm. The end of the season before the D2r, I was farming HRS like candy. I find it no coincidence that I have not found 1 hr in 2 ladders with having multiple characters above level 90. I dont believe in this coincidence, what I see is a siv on the HR drops and forcing people to spend money on the items that get you farther faster. Nobody should ever reach level 99 after 6 days, that is just absurd. End of rant

There must be ingame trading platform with its own currency to beat jsp and rmt. I don’t believe this will ever happen.

i agree an SSF ladder would be nice

the p2w’ers can fester amongst themselves while the real gamers play ssf heh

So much focus on the tiny amount of players who bot/RMT. They don’t stop you from playing the game or having fun.

great! so you arent against it

i agree we need a trading platform but we already have a currency, runes, no need to create “diablo dollar”

At least we can buy ber jah for 15$ to actually make a competitive non sorc.

Add P8 in non-ladder bnet game creation problem solved:

RMT fades away, players have more fun, players play more.

Blizzard should monetize via bank tab purchase ($9.99 a tab) would buy 100$ worth right away if p8 was added to NL and game became actually the same as offline lan/multiplayer back in D2

You’re not looking far enough upstream. Real money being used was a symptom of flawed game design. Items are too rare for SSF to be viable. Only a minority of players engage in socializing and trading; as evidenced by the ever shrinking player base. While it is true that the presence of an AH ruined the excitement of finding a cool item, it is also true that by making the finding if said cool items so incredibly rare ruined the viability of playing without trade.

As it stands now, only about two dozen items are worth keeping. Anything outside of that small list is not even worth picking up. Certain yellows and blues are picked up for the chance they might be godly, but more than likely they are not. The gamers that enjoy that loop are similar to the flunkies you see dumping their entire life savings at the craps table.

Some fixes to this would be to increase the effectiveness of SSF. I’ve mentioned it in several threads, and generally get a large amount of likes for it, is to make magic find work in a party - so the person the MF doesn’t need to be the one getting the KB. Likewise some cube recipes to salvage unwanted unique and set items to help progress towards a set or unique you desire would go a long way. As for runewords - since they’re basically the majority of items worth using now… add the Countess rune drop special to all champ packs and removing the gem requirement to upgrade them.

P8 added to bnet fixes this problem. Gives challenging encounters & drop rates. It made offline SSF an actual viable way to play. Which more people play longer than bnet because bnet multiplayer games arent even remotely realistic.

We need P8 just like offline mode has currently or multiplayer lan had in D2.

Its a requirement of the game changing for the better, otherwise it will continue to push players that actually want to play away from the game.

Saddest part is ypu get downvotes not because thats a bad idea/unfavorable. You get them bevause most of the players left currently already USE p8 on bnet. It exists only if you pay for it and have the setup to multibox.

Those players, especially JSP or bot farmers make their money multiboxing and or botting… so they WOULD NOT want customers of RMT websites or their trade goods to value their paid for multiboxing goods at a lower rate. No. They will downvote you to oblivion AND get on their spare accounts and continue to flame and downvote on multiple identities. Why? Because its their income or their way to stay as the 1% with everything.

The only way to fight those abusers is keep suggesting P8 be put in bnet everywhere you can (reddit/here/discord) and explain to idiots or repeat to abusers- it gets rid of or reduces RMT, adds a new teir of difficulty to multiplayer, and allows more fun/realistic play with friends

I agree with Baalor. The reason RMAs are a thing is due to the games design.

It really is a catch 22. Part of the allure of the game is finally getting that rare drop. At the same time, you could dedicate every free minute to playing this game for a year and never get that drop.

The reality is, more people will leave because they wasted months farming and never got close to what they needed that they will by increasing drop rates or adding players8 to online games.

So why don’t you just play single player? What’s the point of playing on battlenet if you don’t interact with anyone?
I don’t get it…

You boys have to get good then

I’m totally gg’d after a month. Working on a Last Wish.

Farm b net solo games. Trade. Farm some more.

Found Jah, Ohm, Soj, Ist, Um, Lem and a bunch of trade goods this week.

What’s the problem?

not true at all
playing self found only, online p1, playing frenzy/ww barb only
made myself enigma, fortitude, grief, beast, doom, death and many other cheaper rw

drop rates arent tuned for trading but for longevity of the game

It objectively might not be true. Just because you disagree with it, does not change the fact that many people have quit playing the game because they do not feel it is viable. I have made all of those items as well, and I don’t feel the game is rewarding. There’s no incentive to go play more to find them again in the next ladder, for example. If SSF was more viable/rewarding, more people would participate in seasons.

Most multiplayer games have little to no socializing. The point of playing on battle.net is so you can join a random game and there will be random other people there playing beside you. I specifically said socializing, not interacting, for this very reason. I don’t need to communicate with the randoms I play with.
