Rate limit games

Insert joke [Blizzard] u get it? because they are a joke of a company.
Instead of adding more servers baning the bots who are actualy selling and spaming on chat for real money, they punish everysingle player who wants to play the game like it has to be played, kill a ultra rare and repeat.
They’re soo brainless that instead of giving Extra or infinite inventory stash they still force us to keep creating new games to switch between characters everytime we need an item or we need to save something (2021, still cant implement a proper inventory)
The real solution for the queue stuff will be granted by the comunity since i dont belive that we’re going to keep playing this pile of trash for much more time seeying blizzard punishing us over and over with every patch.

Blizzard is a small indie dev studio it’s a shame they can’t afford better servers for their 21 year old game :frowning:

maybe is because they sell the game for 3 bucks instead of 60 usd ooh wait…

I paid 40$ so I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I didn’t need to spend the extra 20$ for some D3 extras I don’t care about.

So keep crying no one here cares enough except to enjoy the laugh that is this thread.

you must be a real special boy

Ahh man, I love this kind of posts, as if the year we’re in has any sway on the logic and or decision making used in the development of a game. Nope, the merit and or thought process certainly means nothing here!

Anyway, complaint post for sake of complaining. Again. With tired and overused insults rhetoric and hyperbole.

If you think what you say is so easily remediable, we’d already be at the point where we’d all be happy and everyone gets what they want. Concept, isn’t it? Because it’s such a brainless thing keeping an old classic as close to the original as possible without extreme overhauls to the client.

Tell you what, you go and get a degree in coding and learn a programming language, maybe C++ to start since you’re so well versed in the subject, no need for Python or something lesser right? Then once you’ve done that, come back and help Activision Blizzard do their jobs correctly.

Ooohh shoot… White Knighting… Darn.

i almost lost my uber tristam game because of the rate limiting crap… apparently they make games with a first capital letter and rest lowercase… but you can’t tell by the font because it all looks like upper

This is such a lazy argument. We are ALL entitled to criticize blizzard for poor performance/product development when it comes to a game, not only that we’ve been anticipating and asking for FOR YEARS, but one we’ve paid full retail price for.

No matter, yes, we should all just bow at the feet of Blizzard for being so generous as to grace us with one of their “Masterpieces” that remain in beta for the foreseeable future! Do you even realize how you sound?

If you don’t want to read one of the COUNTLESS threads on all the things most of us wouldn’t mind (stash upgrades and such), or all of the problems and features that already existed in LoD that no longer work how they used to (for some unknown idiotic reason) then scroll on by, but if you want to have a dialogue, maybe you should present a more thought-out answer/criticism and take most other things into account, ESPECIALLY the fact that we’ve all paid for the game and DESERVE a finished one.

Lets be honest on that last part; most people argue that other’s are “entitled”, but you’re deservedly so when you pay for something yourself. People, including myself, have a fiery hatred build inside when they’ve spent a considerable amount of money (semantics) on something and it turns out to be a dog turd they never asked for and wasn’t advertised.

People are pretty ridiculous on both sides, aren’t they? The white knights want to act like no complaints hold merit. They tirelessly defend the game while people are quitting. Those are the consequences that really matter - Blizzard potentially losing customers. It is a big deal. No provider of anything wants to lose customers at nearly any cost. Some issues can’t be helped, but when you’re punishing people for attempting to join a full game, it doesn’t look good and it’s hard to defend. Is it the end of the world though? Absolutely not. I’m still enjoy the game.

On the other extreme are people acting like the game is unplayable and/or wanting a refund after playing it for 100+ hours which is pretty ridiculous. I’ve mostly been able to play the game issue free this entire time. There are just some lingering issues which can be frustrating at times.

You do realize you went off on a tangent on a topic I had said nothing about right? I was poking at him using “2021” as a basis for why something should be done.

Not sure if you read what I was saying, or if you just felt the need to defend something for the sake of making a post.

In any event, by all means criticize away, I’m not stopping nor encouraging the thought of stopping you from doing so. But make a baseless claim such as using what year it is to justify why something should be done and I will come at you for it.

The OP should be coming up with more constructive dialogue and feedback as to why the inventory of Diablo 2 should be done differently. The actual hell does “2021” have to do with it? In 20 years, it’ll be 2041, should the inventory effectively be double whatever he feels it should be now in 2021? Give me a bloody break.

None of this was even me. LOL I never said anything about a year… HAHAHA, gotta read man.

Shared currency tab can reduce the amount of mule characters and mule games. It can reduce the stress on the server I think. I hope they make a shared currency tab.

(had this in the wrong spot and moved it here)

It’s more complicated now with the way fees and metering works. They (blizzard) gets charged every time WE (customers) access the cloud for Diablo.

Diablo is COSTING blizz a lot of money before they started the rate-limiting (a cost-saving tactic that benefits THEM not you).

That blue text was pure lamentation over the whole situation, designed to shame those abusing the good-will of almighty Blizzard’s charity to bring back this costly relic for us.

easy business decision for a company with no long-term view.
infinite stash = more storage = more server resources = more costs
more online char for each user = more storage = more server resources = more costs
put limits on char per user/game creation/stash size = more people who bought the game are likely to play offline = lower costs and higher profit margin.

The amount of storage Blizzard’s servers contain are what would amount to infinity compared to the size of a character’s stored information… Stash, character, amount of characters, lobby creation… None of this even scratches the surface of their total storage capabilities. Never mind “server resources”…
(Pro tip: Server resources are on a “per need” basis. Until they’re called on (they = your character data) they don’t use any resources up, which means it isn’t used until you use it yourself. The servers are intelligently designed to call information as they need it, like they have been for over 20 years now. D2R just happened to be using an antiquated technology designed for Battle.net 1.0.

These rate limiters are literally in place because their servers could not handle the huge fluctuation in players compared to when they did the Open and Closed beta.

But by all means, bash and “rage against the machine” as it were by claiming it’s all about money, as if you know how this works behind the scenes. It’s easy to claim you know what’s going on when it’s something that doesn’t benefit you, the user.

complainers that think all solutions from a company equates to turning something on or off a switch or just throwing hardware. cry away

Yes, you mean that when people watch the Yankees mess up, they have to learn how to pitch and swing before they can criticize. You are a genius.

Cool. Another one pulling my response out of context. Here, let me link you the same response I had for someone else.

God, you people are adorable.

Also, actually, yes, before you can criticize, you need some form of understanding of how something works… So, shoot yourself in the foot again please.
