Random Repositioning

That is a relief that it is not the first time that has been mentioned. The thing is that I would not put it past them. Just like how it is entirely possible that some of them (or their friends) are operating some of (or all) of the item selling sites.

Haha, everything you just said is definitely something i have said at one time or another. Especially the ā€˜possible’. I mean, its literally impossible to prove, just as its literally impossible to prove they aren’t.

Its not the same as the classic game’s desynch. It sounds the same but when you see it happen it is totally different. At least visually.

You know what is funny about that. I forgot to log in on D2 about 2 months ago and lost my account because the 90 days was up. I was really looking forward to getting up to same point I was on my old account. Had it active for over 7 years. Offline still there though since release. Kept my saves backed up and everything.

On the old bnet it got so bad that any game with the word ā€˜free’ in it would fail to create. I made some free games in D2R at first but ever since the latest patch any time I make a game with ā€˜Free’ in the title I get an error. Could have been random glitching but I dunno.

Well, there is something about visual bugs in game. This is clear as day with a sorc and a merc, and you teleport, and the merc is visually not where he actually is. You can verify this with just a little bit of tele position merc combat.

I’m pretty sure that’s desync. It may look or feel slightly differently in D2R than in D2 because of different server architecture, but it’s (very likely) effectively the same thing. The teleportation you’re describing is how it can manifest. It happens more often if you’re moving very quickly with a lot of FR/W or using certain types of abilities that are more prone to desync like charge or ww. If there is latency or packet loss in communication with the server, the server can occasionally teleport you to a location it deems you to be. Something like that…

This teleporting effect happens to me once in a while on my ww barb with like 70% FR/W and I’m pretty sure what I described above is more or less what’s happening.

That sounds accurate. Yeah, I have a good bit of Faster Run/Walk but its a Barbarian using only Berzerk and his Increased Attack Speed is nowhere near the kind of breakpoints where traditional desynching would occur. Like I said though it also happens when I am just standing still sometimes.

Okay yeah a lot of FR/W will definitely help this occur more often. Barb tends to have a lot with just one point in Increased Speed.

Not sure what the explanation is for it happening when you’re standing still. Could have something to do with the new servers and the way they communicate with the user or some kind of conflict the new hardware is having with the old network code, etc. Could be any number of things. But yeah, assuming this doesn’t happen on single player, then it’s ultimately a server communication / desync type of thing.

Ah. I have not played single player so that is some informative information. Thanks.

If it happens to you a lot, or the random teleporting while standing still, I bet you it’s more on your end than on the D2R servers’ end.

Are you connecting to the Internet wirelessly?

Yeah it is probably on my end. By wireless if you mean 4G then yeah.

Okay. If you can plug in, try it out and see if that works any better.

It is a 4G connection that gets turned into a wired LAN connection and that is about as good as it can get for my scenario. I have done everything that I possibly can on my end already so I dunno. Funny how I can run four of the original clients online with zero problems and this one instance of D2R runs like garbage.
