Rainbow Facet Value?

So i just found this jewel in my trav run.

it has:
100% chance to cast lvl 43 frost nova on level up
24-38 cold damage
-3% enemy cold resist
+5% cold skill damage.

req: lvl 49

what can i reasonably get for this?

Ladder btw.

Not much. People are generally only willing to spend on +5/-5 facets.

i see

thanks for the reply

Yours is decent for self use til you get richer though. Since cold mastery gives -% resists and not +% damage, you get the most use out of your facet since you got the best +% damage roll. The -% resists doesn’t matter as much, after the impact of cold mastery. For lightning and fire facets its the other way around, since the masteries give +% damage and not -% resists.

neato.
just one problem; i don’t have a sorc

i’ve only managed to level a necro since i just started up like 2-3 weeks ago.
so its not that useful to me, unfortunately :frowning:

i’d gladly trade it off for something else, cheaply, if someone cares to throw me an offer.

What kind of necro did you make? I might have some stuff you can use.

Are you making any more chars? I have some general gear that could get you rolling.

well its a summonomancer primarily. i use amp damage + merc auras and poison nova, albeit its pretty weak due to lack of dedicated skill points atm, even with poison sunder and trang oul poison bonuses.

its a fun build though. skeleton warriors actually performing decently on hell (screw the casters, they stink big) and iron golem is tons of fun due to the customization options.

at this point in time i have a lot of the gear i want, and since the season ends soon i think its a bit redundant to beg for more stuff :stuck_out_tongue:
however, if you have a poison facet or a sur/ohm rune that would help my build out tremendously since i am trying to pimp my merc with a bramble to buff my army with more auras.

i’m using insight for iron golem for the mana regen aura, my act 2 merc is using obedience to pump damage + provide my army with might aura, but i’d love if he could provide thorns and/or fanaticism too, but i am not that rich since i only played for like 3 weeks so far, and Sur rune in particular is a ***** to get my hands on.

I can trade a Soj + some less-high runes for one though

Obedience doesn’t have might aura, that is Pride.

Skelly mages were buffed a bit a few months ago, they are still not great but no longer waste of skill points. If you use infinity on your merc, they do OK damage, but that isn’t cheap either.

If you are going with summon necro, 1 point each in amp damage and corpse explosion is all you need besides summon skills. You can put more points into them for bigger radii, especially corpse explosion, if you have spare skill points. Getting poison nova up to a level where it’s strong enough to kill things in hell takes a lot of points away from more helpful skills.

Are you planning on restarting with the new ladder?

I know, i was referring to the aura that comes with my merc as standard XD
the obedience simply allows him to pump damage via enchant and to allow my trang oul fire abilities and torch hydras to do a bit more damage.
fire sunder + -25% fire resistance is pretty neato.

skeleton mages are more of a hindrance than a benefit, they stop in doorways and block merc and melee minions and they are fragile as paper, i put exactly 1 points into them just so i could put a point in Revive, which is an actual useful minion ability in comparison.
so far my focus has been solely on my golem and skele warriors and dedicating all other points elsewhere (mainly in poisons).

and yes, i do have 1 point in corpse explosion and amp damage too.
also put 1 in bone shield just because +skills make it slightly useful when i do happen to get attacked by something.

most of my points have gone into skeletons and skeleton mastery, golem mastery and a few points in fire golem to improve iron golem efficiency - i use high tier gear for iron golem base, such as insight, stormlash or windhammers (preferably ethereal) which means it packs a big punch while enjoying about 8k hp pool due to golem mastery and whatever point bonus is in blood golem when its cast (i only put 1 in clay and blood, but they are sitting at about 12+ points due to skillups).

every point in fire golem improves these bases by 6%, so for example, a windhammer with 250-350 damage has that value multiplied by (currently) 20x6%, which means the golem hits for 250-350dmg + 120% which is what, roughly 575-725 damage per hit?
then add the merc might aura on top of that and its about 800-1200 dmg per hit (maybe even more than that, or slightly less - again, roughly, didn’t do the precise math).

the rest are in poisons.
no bone spear or anything like that.

character is lvl 88 btw. 1 bar away from 89

i mean, i managed to kill diabloclone relatively easily with this setup, so i must be doing something right.

the hidden benefit of this “spec” is that skeletons are super sturdy, and putting on a bunch of +summoning skill gear and taking a skill shrine improves them immensely.
once they are summoned, they will stay with all the +skill points they were summoned with until they die, which means i am running around with skeletons and a golem that have every skill at 20-36+ on raise, after which i can switch back to my “dps” gear and essentially break the game a bit by enjoying full benefits of both dps gear and summoning gear at the same time. (the only downside being that i have to switch gear, get a new shrine and re-raise the dead ones for maximum efficiency if they die, but that basically doesn’t ever happen unless i run into a massive blob of mobs that all focus fire a minion, or a Hell end-game boss, like Baal, Diablo or Diabloclone).

deffo need more points in poison skills atm though.

Oh, and yes, i am planning on starting on the new ladder (season 4) when it launches.
i was late to the party on season 3, so i’m looking forward to it.
gonna run the same build again, since its tons of fun to me personally.

And that’s it, i’m done editing now XD
