Racism in bnet lobbies EVERY DAY and no action

FYI: Freedom of speech does not apply to private entities or individuals. Freedom of speech primarily protects the citizen from government censorship. Blizzard is a private entity, meaning they can impose whatever speech restrictions they want to within their domain, which includes their forums and games.

there is no defence for hatefull garbage from cowardly idiots only science based opinions are valid

“there is no defense for hate”
There is, it’s called ignorance.

well said but is it a defence or dumb reason

Science can be, and is influenced by politics. I’d trust just the scientific method.
(The definition has yet to be bloated and butchered, to my knowledge)

Ehh let’s be real. There are exactly two types of people. Bigots and liars.

The ones protesting the hardest are just the ones lying the hardest.

Everyone on this planet, mature enough to be considered an adult, hates at least one other group of people.

Nah, there’s 3: Male genitalia, Ginas and Exit holes.

Having to word it like this is retarded.

just let it be…so long as they ain’t going after ppl physically in rl its wtv

just see the person as a clown//under-develop iq which ain’t rly worth your time

also normally i’d say dont jump to conclusion, but this is almost guaranteed to be racist
could also be a troll jebaiting ppl to get mad at them(rly rly bad way to troll though if its trolling)

well…while those with an iron skin would not be affect nor care much…the weak minded would take it as a personnal attack…the best solution though is to help them steel up…not protect them…gotta learn to steel up and deflect words

like ppl ain’t going to cover a weak minded person forever…gotta transition from infant mind to grown up mind

alright i leave this at that…and gone for months again…“wave at all oldies” may the long awaited QoL come to D2 soon…i know Blizz dont care but never loose hope that they change their way eventually

I don’t demand bad takes be scrubbed from my presence when I see them. I just move on with my life, recognizing people see the world differently. Let it go. Being a karen is probably stressful.

Ignorance is bliss as u know and words (racism included) are only offensive if u let them offend u which is exactly the reaction that people want to see when they use offensive language (in other words u are giving them EXACTLY what they want). If people stopped bothering the words would eventually loose their meaning and at some point the problem might actually solve itself since they would no longer cause the wanted reaction.
Censorship is a never ending cycle and eventually becomes tyranny, once u go down this path it never stops there will always be new words to censor once the old ones are gone, at some point u would no longer be able to express ur opinion or tell the difference between black and white because every word that describes these things are censored.

I see the games sometimes, even went in one and he called me the n-word. TBH tho this has been the culture systematically encouraged for the company and the game for a long time. Which sucks because they generally make enjoyable games but don’t really care to do something about various isms until it hits the pockets or is an ism that is directed to them and their identity personally.

Will give em credit for Overwatch chat support, I got chat banned for saying some wild ish haha lol.

easy to brush it off if your white walk a mile in a blackmans shoes

This forum is sorely lacking a downvote feature. For racists like this guy ^.

Yeah but as u know racism only works one way, given the history he does have a point though but at some point people needs to realise that times have changed quite a bit since the days of slavery and the people guilty of these crimes to humanity are dead and buried, but the ghosts of the past still live on in modern society somehow and people still get very easily offended buy meaningless words instead of ignore, report and move on. Essentially people are just adding fuel to the fire by having temper tantrums over meaningless words.

From my perspective there is no such thing as “meaningless words”. Words can stir up opinions and lead to actions. Look at all the propaganda on social media and they all would say “just words” (actually a manipulative method to silence people - by using words) while the effects are visible in the real world.

In most regions of the world people know this, I guess.

Words cant kill you and they ARE kind of meaningless when they come from a person u dont even know in a computer game. They only stir up emotions, opinions and lead to actions if you let them, too bad so many people are so ez to manipulate in todays society or Trump would never be president in the US and hate speech (racism included) would not trigger the desired reaction that the offender was looking for.
Sure some action needs to be taken when words eventually leads to violence but to be honest if people would stop being so easily offended there would be a lot less of these situations. In the end the best you can do is ignore, report and move on, i do however doubt Blizz will spend any resources moderating a game that doesnt make enough money to justify these actions. Lets be honest this game doesnt come with a monthly sub and probably sold like 99% of the copies it is ever going to sell so the few copies they sell nowadays are probably barely enough to maintain the servers so we can keep playing this old game

clearly your too dumb to understand what im saying just another simpleton how is it racist

Well you kinda just gave an example there though. People ARE easy to influence, therefore words can be harmful. Sure, someone saying a slur in an online game can be perceived as just an idiot online and not really harm anyone, but when groups start to forming in an online space that see it as a safe place to discuss those ideologies, things stop being so harmless. You can’t of course prevent that from happening on the internet, but a company running an online service such as a game or forum absolutely can and should make a statement that such ideas are not welcome in their service, by moderating this kind of thing.

Diablo is a game about fighting evil after all.
