I would argue for Offensive Act 2 Normal merc.
I’m in normal getting killed by diablo act 1 merc currently
So act 2 merc should help I hope
Not really, act bosses do extra damage to minions, including mercs. So he’s just going to get one shotted without really good gear anyway.
Personally I like act 1 merc for a summonancer because minions body block a2 merc and you can put harmony or faith on her. A2 merc is probably still better early on for the aura though.
The trick to beating bosses on normal is hit them with iron maiden and spam clay golem until boss dies.
You definitely want a Might Aura merc. Act 2 Offensive Nightmare.
All your summons deal 200% more damage @lvl 80 or so.
Kills the first couple mobs faster, allowing you to corpse explosion the whole pack and instakill them far quicker.
Harmony or faith ???

Harmony gives a ton of elemental and phys damage so it covers all the immunity problems in hell. It gives Vigor aura as well which imo is very nice to have before you can get enigma.
Faith gives fanaticism aura, which is obviously fantastic for minions. Alternatively you could do act 2 might merc with a Pride since might and concentration stack.

And what runes do I need and on which items ?
Check out the Diablo.io site. It has a TON of info and you can filter things by weapon type, rune type, etc.
Here is the page for Missile Weapons (Bows). You can use the filters to see all sorts of runwords for things. Also remember, NEVER use a Blue or Yellow for a runeword. Only use white or grey.

Faith is super end game gear, you won’t be getting that for a while, and even if you have the runes for it unless you are playing a zon it’s not worth making it first. Much better items to have imo.
It is Ohm-Jah-Lem-Eld though.
Harmony is quite a bit easier to get but still requires level 40s. That one is Tir-Ith-Sol-Ko.
They both go into any 4 socket bow.
