Queues are NOT the answer

exactly, Ques are nothing more then a hinderance for those of us who work full time and limited on our play time – why would i want to wait 30 minutes in a que after working a 12 to 14 hour day? i bought the game to play it, not sit idle and wait for a timer because a company is too lazy to “beef up servers” or whatever they have to do, to make it work properly.

if they don’t fix the issues, well its pretty simple. ill go else where and spend my money on a product that’s 100% fully functional to play. Not this 13 hours of server down time over a span of 3 days including, constant server crashes and disconnections.

it was a sloppy launch and they need to get there act together or lose more customers.

I had queues all day.

Game is broken and Global DB is the issue.

Whey not shut down the game, and start over.

Tell us next Sept. 13 or whatever the game will be ready and THIS time it will be.

The thing about this that upsets me is the fact I can be in a game for an hour. Get booted and get stuck in queue to get back in. Wait 5-10 minutes depending on speed. Start game shortly after some time, booted again or just a complete client crash with no error message/report. Only to get stuck in queue again. This has happened to me at least 7 times in the past 3 hours. Random client crashes, no errors. Or random boots while mid combat, cannot connect to server then auto placement in queue. Grrrrr. I just quit for the night. Was in the middle of a ChaosBaal run with a friend of mine and bam mid Diablo fight I get booted and placed in queue to get back being in queue placement at 250.

That was the 7th and last time I am dealing with that tonight so. I am just gonna stop and cool off. Had to vent my frustration. Hope others have better luck.

I can’t even get to Andy, trying to find the final teleport before “Failed To Connect To Server” comes up, been trying to get it for the past 3 hours… What are they doing to their servers are they potato’s or something?

And then the game tries to blame my internet, saying something like “Unable to connect to Blizzard servers, Please check your internet connection”. I understand these issues back in the day, but with todays gaming hardware and power this is pathetic. I would love to be able to get to Act 3 online, not offline.

Oh, also when I launched the game to play I was queued at 200…

Dude, chill.

Blizzard is a small indie company.

With 2 billion in revenue. But hey, that’s a detail.

I didn’t even know about the queues until this afternoon. literally yesterday i was playing just fine. i know i’m lucky to have not had many problems at all with game and server crashes during the times i’ve played in the last two weeks and that many other people have, but it certainly seems queues are a terrible idea.

i literally waited 5 minutes to get into my game, did an Andy and Lower Kurast run, left the game to start a new one and my game crashed so now i’m waiting in another queue for god knows how long only after 10 minutes of play time

When everyone who there isn’t room for can get their money back and leave the servers will be fixed.

QUE not needed. Getting kick out from the game and now waiting for 200+ que. WTF is that…

It will also be great if they allow

  1. playing offline with the online character so you dont have to bother with the full servers
Or 2. Lan conection with offline characters so people that just want to play alone or with their friends dont have to bother with bnet

If you’re going to implement a queue can you at least fix all the random crashes? It’s not fun to be booted and then have to wait to get back in on top of it…

Yeah my game crashed now I sit in Queue of 50 people

Lawyers are being contacted.

A multi-billion dollar company can’t afford a few new servers for a 20 year old game? Pathetic.

Yeah, to solve this, I went back to playing the original…

If it wasn’t the queue you would run into the limit on the amount of games you could create or join within a given period of time. Why not put together a good run that will last way longer than 20 seconds. I am sure that players could come up with something interesting if they put their minds to it.

It is not the amount of servers that is the problem. It is the legacy net code that is one of the problems. And maybe even other compatibility issues with legacy net code. No it wouldn’t be a wise idea to remove the legacy net code because that could cause other issues as well.

Dont let them obfuscate actuality man, they dont have the capacity for everyone to play on the server, regardless of the reason for not having the capacity.

More servers won’t help server infrastructure. If the infrastructure isn’t done right you could throw a billion servers at it and it wouldn’t help a bit.

When that happens, you don’t have to restart the game. You have to wait a full minute in between attempts to join/create a game. This was mentioned in Blizzard’s post. It is another way that they are trying to keep the servers up. The servers that handle joining/creating games can not handle the load of thousands of people joining/creating games every 20 seconds. Those of you who farm Pindleskin should add another mf run to your games to prevent this wait.
