Gotta love it. 3 hours before work, start my login when I’m getting the kids ready. Check, over 200, showered up and cooked breakfast. Still in the 200s, I screw around and watch some TV while I get dressed. Now, 30 minutes until I need to leave… 155 in line. 2 1/2 hours at 7 am.
Go grab some random guy from Comp Sci 101, have them boot the idlers and get rid of the queue. It’s amazing that you can have an actual company that builds software but not have an entry level understanding of how to fix issues in a game that is literally a reskinned game from TWO DECADES AGO.

will do you one better - had a similar experience this morning, except when i FINALLY got through the queue and was privileged the access to enter the online lobby/chat window, i tried to join a game that ended up being full - well, shame on me for making such a mistake. I got an “issue with servers” error, and had to restart the game…so now I am BACK IN LINE AT POSITION 178! COME ON BLIZZ - I have played this game since vanilla was launched, this is really killing the vibe for me…
After the Q simulator i get to play the inventory management simulator. So exciting.
At least the inventory management simulator has pretty colors and characters. Doesn’t just sit there eating electricity on the stupid flaming screen of waiting.

if you had just waited a minute or so you would have been able to join another game without restarting the client.
You played yourself.
Poking fun at people because of bad coding and servers… like we shouldn’t be able to restart a game lmao
Not making fun of them, it’s literally a timeout feature they talked about weeks ago that they implemented?
It’s a 1 min inbetween games timeout feature. Which also sucks because if you type your own game name wrong you get locked out for a minute.
But at this point in time, everyone should know about it because it was literally posted and talked about weeks ago. So that’s no one’s fault but their own for not paying attention.
lmao this comment made the Q acceptable.
I read this and understand this, so yeah I guess I played myself. However, as was previously noted, shame on me for thinking I could simply restart a damn game…
Also, to say that EVERYONE should know is a bit absurd. I took a bit of a hiatus from the game for about 2 weeks, and I forgot that I don’t need to restart to resolve timing out. Gosh what was I thinking?!
You must enjoy your time in the queue - good for you!
You can just sit in the character selection lobby forever… without getting booted - so just launch the game and let it ride the queue out and once you sit down at the computer after work or whatever youll still be on the character selection screen.
And as a sidenote, afaik if they still use the legacy code… there is a queue system for game creation somewhere in there so not sure why they reinvented a queue.
Oh Gosh… Golly Gee… my apologies for being so inconsiderate to you. I forgot that some people must not read anything for 2 whole weeks or even read the announcements when they get back before jumping straight into a game.
My apologies
The queue is a necessary evil. Without it the servers would be down for 3-5 hours a day if not more. Since the game wouldn’t be running the devs and the IT team wouldn’t be able to find out what is going on. With the Queue they can, under a controlled environment find out what is going on.
Kind of like a mechanic for cars. If you come in with your car and say that your car is making noise x. The mechanic would have an idea of what is going on but would still want to hear the noise.
So the queue is like that mechanic that needs the car to be running for a little while to see what type of noise it is and then after hearing it then he can look and see what is wrong.
With the queue there is a great chance that the servers will be fixed. Without it no so high of a chance. Due to no game being ran on the servers. And don’t think that a program would work any better. A program that simulates tens of thousands of players wouldn’t do any better than real players playing under a controlled environment.
The problems are not an easy fix. They don’t have no magic wands that they can wave and instantly fix everything.
