If you have a bottle of water and love it plain , you’ve held it for so long in your hand that it’s has become tempered and next to you there are 19 people putting flavour boost and ice in their water bottle to keep it fresh and tasty…
If nobody touches your bottle nor its source How are they ruining your water ?
Here’s a better question. Why would you go to a store that is called “Plain Water”, with a sign in the window that says “no flavors just plain water”, and go inside expecting to get a flavored water? In addition, why would you then argue with the customers outside telling them that the store should contain flavored water, and wave signs in protest outside the store, when you could just as easily go to the store across the street called “Flavored Water”?
95% pretend numbers again. Like that funny poll w 666 players you kept posting as a “majority of the playerbase.”
When will you accept that no one agrees with you. No matter how many threads/posts you make. No matter how differently you word it to say the same nonsense. Your ideas and complaints are your own. And you’re gonna have to give up on that eventually. It’s just sad and redundant at this point.
The metaphor you use in describing D2R is not accurate. Everyone does not have their own bottle of water, it is a cooler full of water that we fill up our bottles from, and you wish to put flavor in the cooler which everyone will have to taste.
There’s never been an official blizz poll in the first place so all evidence is anecdotal.
Its been all 3rd party and I guess maybe you can say that shadow email poll was blizz offcial.
Im not foolish enough to believe there wont be some forthcoming changes but not deluded enough that they will restructure the entire core concept of the game by adding things like ploot, online p8, infinite respec, or elimination of immunities.
When I was 14, we often make pop-corn with my brother. He always insist on making pop-corn with salt. I hate pop-corn with salt and eat only pop-corn with sugar.
So, we split corn pack into 2 equal parts and make half with salt and half with sugar. But, I have to melt sugar before add it to pop-corn and it takes 5-10 minutes more. During that time, my brother already ate all pop-corn with salt and then he claim half of pop-corn with sugar.
The same here: person with bottle of flauvored water not only drinks his own bottle, but also claims half of my pure water, because he has too much topping and need to dilute it. Hate them.
If this was a single player game, then I’d see your point. If you can run different versions of the game (eg. D2R legacy vs. D2R modded) then I’d see your point.
However, it’s currently a shared game. If a change is made, it affects EVERYONE not just one person. So in your analogy, it’s like having a cup of water and one person that likes flavored water going around and putting flavoring in EVERYONE’s water, even if that person may not like or want flavored water. So because one person likes flavored water, that means that everyone else has to have flavored water and can’t have plain water.
It’s funny how purists see an analogy about Split mode and manage to completely ignore the existence of Split mode and claim the analogy is bad because split mode doesn’t exist in their mind because it goes against their narrative … “force others to play the way we want”
And it’s funny how the game is developed with certain mechanics and people demand that they change them to suit their needs because they don’t agree with the rules of the game.
Wow you can’t even come up with right metaphor. Correct would be:
If everyone drink water from the same well, why people aren’t happy with Sexcalibure taking seven circles of piss in it?
I find actually mildly interesting if you will be able to figure out answer to this question…
Classic purist, doesn’t answer the perfectly fitting question because he knows it destroys his narrative so he has to alter the question to have an answer that fits his narrative
The analogy is perfect, 1:20 people want plain water(no change) while 19:20 want to improve its flavour
Having the option to put flavour boost in your water doesn’t force you to do it in your water… same with the game, if you have the choice between no-change mode & improvements modes… nobody is forcing anything in your water, just drink it and allow other to enjoy their water as they want
Yes, but they clearly said you can play either and that’s fine. It was an optional expansion that you decided if you wanted to get or not.
Have they said that if they make any major changes to today’s D2R game that there will be a separate Legacy mode? Or that these changes will be part of a separate expansion?
Instead of putting so much effort in being against improvements, why don’t you guys puts your effort in allowing those changes to others but ask a Legacy mode in return so everybody is happy
