Are there any Ormus robes worth anything besides blizzard ones? The +damage from light and fire don’t add up to much after masteries, and the +skills don’t really seem worth not getting anything else from the armor.
I found a 15C 13L 14F +3 chain lightning Ormus, and I don’t know if it’s worth anything.
I have tried d2 planner on this ormus before for chain ligthning and lightning build. Its more damage provided your lightning damage have to be 15% on the ormus. Those using lightning more can get one with +3 lightning or those prefer chain lightning can get one like yours. But i still choose a viper magi with facet as the damage is lesser slightly only and provide more fcr and resist.
for what it’s worth The ormus with - 15 enemy light res and + 3 nova are valuable for nova sorcs… I use an ormus for my amazon aslo, added a socket and slammed in a lightning facet… kicks up the lit fury damage really well… Actually I just realized that its + 15 to lighting damge sorry played too long last night brain not working
If a well rolled Ormus is good for a nova sorc, wouldn’t it be good for a light or chain light sorc also? I’ve never made a nova sorc before.
yes ormus will sure bring the damage up. But its about how you build your sorc around it. Lightning/ chain lightning build requires 117 FCR. and with 2.5 Sunder charm you need to work around with more lightning resist on character to balance it. wearing an ormus will make your resist all become horrible. wearing a viper magi will make your resist much better. can refer to this planner and there is ormus inside for switching. you can try compare the damage and resist on the character.
I wish Ormus gave - light res. That would make this chain light roll so much better. After all the damage from light mastery, another 15% from the armor is basically worthless. I can see how it would be more useful for a jav zon though, who doesn’t have light mastery. At that point, though, the +skill is useless and all that matters is the best light damage roll.
I mean, you can always go with 4 x 5/5 light facets.
There are a few decent Ormus out there. Nova, Lightning, Chain Lightning, Fireball, Hydra, Enchant, Frozen Orb, Blizzard, Frost Nova.
It might not always be best-in-slot, but it is easier to find and use vs other caster chest options.
Frozen orb can’t roll on Ormus. 5/5 light facets are expensive.
I’d be surprised if anyone was willing to pay even mal for the Ormus I found.

Overall it’s a nice armor and clearly worth more than a mal.
I would definitely use it if 200 fcr was out of reach for my light sorc. (and have used it). Chain lightning is more rarely used than lightning but it is preffered by some.
I paid an ohm for mine with 1 socket in.
