Quality or Performance mode?

Just got my Xbox Series S yesterday and love the thing. Game on One S loaded like crap but it’s all good now. You guys play on Quality or Performance? I’m thinking I want the 60 fps so Performance mode for me. Also I was shocked how small this console is!! :+1:t3: Also on Xbox One going from waypoint to waypoint especially to a different act would take at least 30 seconds if not more…it’s almost instant now. So glad I upgraded my console. D2 made me do it!

Agree been playing on 60 fps and loving it. Graphics still look gorgeous….hard to even see difference. Performance mode for sure. It’s kind of obvious to me this game was built for next gen consoles. Now that I’m playing on Series S I can really tell that it was running like dog crap on the One. Xbox One doesn’t even have these modes to pick from. I still like my One and have it in another room but for sure won’t be playing D2 anymore on it.

Yep, 2nd, performance for sure. After playing 60 fps 30 feels too clunky.

What are the differences between Xbox one and the series s/x?

I know load times are better, but what else?

Wondering if I should get the series x/s and move on from my one x (still a great console though).

I came from a One S so I’m not sure about the One X. I love my new Series S I can tell you that. The load times are dramatically different as in there are hardly none. Everything is practically instant. The quick resume feature is pretty great as well. On One S even waypoint travel took 30 seconds if not more and now 0! Huge plus for me! New consoles use SSD which is super fast with the draw back being it’s expensive to buy more storage.

I agree I play on the ps5 performance mode with 60 fps is better quality mode hurts my eyes it looks blurry in background when I move it feels way smoother in performance plus loads instantly alot.

Not sure if you’ll see this post since it’s been a good half year, but to answer your question:

The Xbox Series line of consoles are a solid hardware upgrade over the Xbox One line. They feature:

  • A solid state hard disk drive for extremely fast load times
  • Ray tracing in supported games
  • Auto HDR in supported games (software emulated HDR)
  • FPS Boost in supported games (30 FPS games get the jump to 60 FPS)
  • 120 FPS support with supported games, providing you have a supporting TV
  • Modern processor and GPU
  • Quick Resume (I’ve never used this feature as I prefer to close games down when done)

In terms of actual games, pretty much every game that plays on Xbox Series plays on Xbox One, but the Xbox Series version will perform and display better in most cases.

I went from an Xbox One X to an Xbox Series X and it’s been a solid upgrade. Since you have an Xbox One X as well, I’d recommend holding off on an Xbox Series S unless your current console breaks and you’re not able to find an Xbox Series X as a replacement.

Having said that, the Xbox Series S is the most readily available current generation console on shelves and I don’t know a single person who bought one and is unhappy with it.
