I don’t like playing with random people. Me and my friends normally either play solo or with each other if we are online at the same time. The issue is that to scale up to 8 players we have to be in “offline” mode and can’t play with friends. To play with friends then we can’t scale games to act as if they have 8 people.
Would be nice if all games could be scaled by the person that makes the game to act like it had up to 8 players, even though we may be playing solo or just with a few friends.
Don’t think players 8 online counts as QoL but yeah, probably not happening.
Then they need to give us a way to use our “offline” characters to play with friends.

It’s not going to happen and they’ll justify it any way they want. It’s more fun to play the powerful character I spent months building when the monsters put up some resistance with their 450% hp and 50% ish extra damage. It’s more fun when some type of loot pops out of half of the corpses instead of 10% of them. Having a strong character is almost punished.
this game is about the grind iv spent years on my accts and still find new stuff every day that’s what i love about D2 it just never ends loot is diverse and scarce making the game have longevity its all D2 has as the game is super simple
now i want to ask why did u buy D2R knowing what D2 is or have u never played D2?
cus thats what the game is about earning rare loot and every time u find something it adds too that hype of a new build, new char?

They won’t do this, because due to the decreased nodrop rate when you scale up the player count, it would destroy almost all incentive to make public games, would vastly impact the in-game economy, which will destroy the community. They could however let you go up to /players3 in online play without causing too much trouble, and without destroying all incentive to make public games. They could make it so that the slider controls the MINIMUM players setting, and still allow the game to scale up higher and down again as players join and leave.

I don’t agree with /players 8 on Bnet, but I do wish offline TCP/LAN were still an option. It was originally planned for release but unfortunately was removed due to “security reasons” (piracy and very likely the hacked alpha). 
It’d be cool if TCP gets reinstated or an alternative LAN function because it would be great to play multiplayer with friends on single player characters, and it would allow the possibility of modded multiplayer. Not holding my breath though, I hope the Microsoft acquisition somehow brings good news to the modding scene when they take over management in 2023.

P3 is about all I can consistently hope for in a pub game so that’d be fine with me. I’d rather do 8K solo p3 cbaal runs at my own pace than 5K trying to keep up with kids who haven’t developed carpel tunnel yet.
