Lets revisit one of the most requested features, besides a currency tab and working lobbies… a Loot Filter!
D2 is a loot based game, being able to recognize loot is as important as collecting it.
I hate to give the mods credit, but one of them did this right, a programable loot filter that allows you to either hide items you dont want, like a cracked sash or certain potions, or just shorten the name to an abbreviation or number designate.
For example, a Greater Health Pot was shortened to HP(4).
There was also a HUD at the top of the screen where you could designate high value items that drop within your screen, IE a Ber Rune shows up in full orange text, making you super alert and go scrambling to find it. This is exciting vs having to zoom in, look through the pile, collect all the gold, ect.
This should not be a painstaking process Devs, please consider putting this in!
Also, its not an advantage if everyone has it, it would fall onto the player to program it for their tastes.
So lets say there are 5, what would happen if you click on the combined name, only 1 is picked up so it becomes (4) or you pick all 5 up if there is room?
You’d just pick up one.
The number also reflects the number of the same item on the screen, so the number could change as your character moves to pick up the first potion in the label stack.
Gold just needs the option to hide the label, I don’t need to know the exact amount of every pile, or that every pile is “gold”. The item itself is clearly visible amongst other items, and the pile size varies depending on the amount. I know little piles = little amount, big piles = big amount. A caveman could figure that out. Uga uga. Ungh!
You weren’t the first to come up or post about the idea of a loot filter. I was going to agree with you on your other thread, but now you are just being pedantic.
Take notes on how to properly pitch a topic, devoid of spitballs on a wall mentality and avoid responding with condescension and toxicity when challenged, and maybe you would get real discussions in your threads too.
A fully customizable to preference loot filter should already be in game. You should even be able to set it up to ignore items and they would need to be manually clicked.
