QOL: Display iLvl Please!

Still no ilvl, bump!

Bump++, it would be a great QoL improvement.

thats a neat idea.

usefull to make sure larzuk will give max sockets or to make sure the GC youre trying to reroll can actually become a skiller.

i like it.

Would love that as well, especially for charms rerolling. Whether to display it or not could be just a checkbox in settings, so it would not clutter UI of those who don’t know what it is/don’t wanna see it.

+1
yes please no reason not to at least add it in as an option. wouldnt require much coding either

Pretty simple to just disable it by default.

Adding ilvl can only improve the game.

For those raising the trivial objection that ilvl would be confusing to new players, or that they might consider ilvl over the item stats while simultaneously not knowing what ilvl means… here are some things to consider:

Display options:
-It could be an option to toggle on/off in options
-It could only be displayed when holding the Alt key
-It could show in a smaller gray font, to further delineate that it is less important

Confusing?:
-It may be more confusing to a new player, how the game systems work when they have never come across the concept of ilvl. Showing the ilvl would make the experience much friendlier to a new player’s learning experience as they get into crafting.
-The ilvl of a drop can instantly tell you the monster level of the area.
-The ilvl display would allow people to trade white item bases like monarchs if the ilvl can be seen in the trade window.
-Viewing an item’s ilvl will prevent confusion even to more experienced players, so that they do not need to keep items clearly sorted out by ilvl on different mules
-Even if you can remember “this charm dropped from Baal, so I can roll top tier life on this charm”, you may not remember the ilvl on other charms, should you suddenly decide they would be sufficient to roll for other mods. Similar to other item bases, ilvl display would allow you to trade for charms dropped by baal.
-Displaying ilvl would immediately inform a new player, that a specific craft is lowering the ilvl, or tip new players off that gambling for items yields items of a certain range of ilvl.

These are some off-the-cuff reasons, I’m sure you can think of more.
I see virtually no reason not to include ilvl, other than to gatekeep knowledge of the game.

yes please. Make it a toggle or something if it’s confusing for new players, but it would be invaluable to know.

this is a huge factor in what to kill and what items will be affected by recipes. Huge QOL improvement if it could be added to items and monsters, even if just a toggle on/off option

I would LOVE this change. Would help so much in crafting.

Unfortunately 2.4 didn’t introduce this. The devs wanted to make tooltips more transparent and this would go along with that idea, and it would be a massive QoL change that would take no work (switching one column of 0s to 1s in the txt files).

Please display ilvl on items, it would be a huge boon for crafting and rerolling.

I agree with the OP!

Yep good idea.
It can be toggleable and turned off by default for new players.
Win-Win.

Also would make trading baal charms 100% safe.

Yea i wonder why this is still not implemented.
Its not something big discussions are resulting of, everyone likes it and this CANT be difficult to implement. Blizzard, please, just do it already
