well with no new stuff theres gonna be no ques on ptr lol
they really dont have a clue :frowning:

well, 2 days ago we broke the ptr server. i dont really have a problem with testing server changes and balance changes seperately. yes, it sucks for us, but from a dev perspective it makes sense to go step by step. and after all, i want them to do a good job, not satisfy my immediate urge.

I’m skeptical because the patch update / teaser was SO VAGUE with no real concrete information, and then the PTR is just for testing the database. In other Blizzard games, they have a list with actual numbers that are proposed changed to skills / abilities, then later PTR, and cross out stuff on the list and re-write number changes (like 50% instead of 75%) to spell nerfs / buffs).

I feel like we are a long way away from PTR / patch / ladder.

There were more concrete details in that dev roundtable/Q&A they did with MrLlamaSC last month. They sounded pretty far along.

This database PTR was announced a couple months ago here on the forum when they were having a lot of server stability issues. For whatever reason it took them a while to get to it.

The Diablo community rep was in MrLlamaSC’s twitch chat recently and said they were still compiling and writing up the huge 2.4 change log for the blog. So hopefully we aren’t very far off.

you can NEVER and i say NEVER stress test on ptr, this is why they had problems in the first place.
they should do it all at once! thats how theyd get more people on to stress test…
people never learn, they been stress testing servers for 25 years xD

whats actually happening is they are seeing how bad a service of servers can they give us to save money…

We actually put the PTR in to a 200 person queue.
