PTR Feedback - Make Tyrael's Might Great Again

With Balance Patch 2.4, it would be fantastic if the developers considered buffing one of the most elusive items in the game, which is Tyrael’s Might. The motivation for this change is to make this item worthy of the High Heavens as it is damn near impossible to obtain due to its crazy low drop chance. Recommend adding +2 to all skills (compete with Enigma), significantly buffed damage to demons, added damage to undead, increased FRW, increased all resistances, added light radius (+7 seemed fitting for an angel) and finally made it Ethereal by design (crafted from other-worldly material) as shown below…

Remove the Salvation Aura and make it +2 To All Skills, then it’s fine.

Added: and perhaps increase dmg v. demons to 170-250%

Salvation lv 1 its more than enough +60 F/C/L Res but - change that aura for Cleansing level 10 and remove “Cannot be Cursed” no need to program something new
add 40~50 all res, and theres you idea with something that already exist
+4 to all skills its quite powerfull but Nice and OG

Cleansing would look dumb as the aura color scheme doesn’t fit the armor.
I actually like the Cannot be Cursed mod much more, since reduced curse duration(like fade) is very poor in action. Monsters keep recursing as soon as the first wears off anyway.
If curse immunity is too much, we should consider a “reduced curse effectiveness” stat instead.

+2 To All Skills is enough for this to be a good “caster/summoner” armor, because there is also the no req and str bonus to consider. Something attack builds doesn’t care as much about. Caster’s can also socket quest the armor and put a facet in it. So +2 To All Skills feels sufficient.

Tyrael is a Sword fighting angle after all, this should be a Warrior’s armor.

That is why I suggested increasing Damage To Demons to 170-250%. This will thematically fit an angel armor and benefit boss fighting.

Lastly I will suggest we nerf Fortitude’s Enhanced Damage to 200% to make room for other armor choices.

The only aura befitting Tyraels would be sanctuary aura which you get by equiping azurewrath. I like the idea with dmg to demons (250 - 300ed). +2 to all is more than enough, no need for broken tier items.

Sanctuary is a very cool aura and it could work well but already on Azurewrath, yes. So would be a bit much to also place it on Tyrael’s Might.

I don’t think giving the armor an aura is necessary either.

We agree then, no need for an aura. I have to say, my frenzy barb with grief pb + azurewrath + tyraels + arreatz had more than style. He had no problems clearing any content.

  • +1 Op ! That would make the armor worthy of dropping x) Never dropped it myself after 20 years =/ but i know in it current state if it ever dropped it would end up in my stash … Tyrael armor need to be worthy of it low % drop !!

A Real change i might suggest:

+2 all Skills (Needed)
remove +50-100% ED vs Dems
add +100-200% ED
and 30~50 All Res

to match Fortitud or CoH

I could get behind those changes.

lvl10 salvation is way too OP, maybe sanctuary or redemption.

13 affixes is a lot, I think you should try to stick with 9.

It might be the only unique armor in the game with 9 affixes. Nvm Duriels shell has the same if you want to count separate resists on it

GA armor has 10…

Okay so max is 10 I guess you going for 13? Seems a bit much then again it is the rarest armor in game. I’d like to see substantially upgraded as well.

After reviewing feedback, I removed salvation aura, reduced to +2 to skills, removed immunity to curses, significantly increased damage to demons and increased all resistances. I kept light radius for flavor.

Add also 150-200% dmg to undead

Then we eclipsed the crap armor called CoH.

Unique will not be buffed in 2.4.
But hey, maybe in 2.5 :slight_smile:

Stormlash, Hellslayer, Grandfather, Schaefers Hammer, basically all crossbows, etc

Again implies it was good at one point… lol

100% agree though, the rarest armor in the game should be a top 5 armor and would be a great melee armor…

Perhaps a level 10 Holy Freeze since its blue and already has Cannot be Frozen.

Make it Etherial + indestructible, it just makes sense for an angel armor, and it deserves the defense. It makes more sense than undead dmg because he weared this to fight the demons of hell (in theory), undead are mortal problems.

Correct me if im wrong, but thought if it spawns indestructable naturally then it cannot spawn ethereal unless specifically designed to be (e.g. Ethereal Edge)?
