Like the title says, I’m running on a regular PS4, I played a lot of D3 on PC and console and it has been fine, was wondering how others are finding performance on regular PS4’s as I’m wanting to buy it as I enjoy couch potato D3 and the fact D2R has cross save is just the icing on the cake, though I’d buy even if it didn’t if I’m honest.
Thanks for any info.
I have a few hours invested into the PS4 version, and so far so good. I originally bought the PC version, but due to incompatibility with Windows 8.1, I had to request a refund. Perhaps a blessing in disguise, as playing from the comfort of my couch has been a huge bonus.
Performance has been perfectly fine. There’s no denying that navigating the menu is more tedious on console, but there’s no real way around that. They did a pretty good job with hotkeys, and it doesn’t take long to become pretty efficient with the menus, but it’s certainly never going to compete with a mouse and keyboard navigation.
All in all, great experience on PS4 thus far.
Edit. I do want to add that the experience on console is certainly going to be dependent on your setup. If you enjoyed D3, then it’s likely you’re set up correctly to enjoy D2R, but if you have a small TV and/or are too far from the screen, it might get tough on the eyes to read the small fonts. There’s an option for large font size, but it’s not a drastic change and may not be enough to compensate for TV size/distance.
Just jumped in and ran it for an hour or so, I have a large oled tv so everything looks fine, initally my PS4 made quite a bit of fan noise then seemd to calm down so it’s all good, as you say couch play is great but you’re not wrong about the menus and item management but nothing so bad it’s deal breaking.
Cross save is going to be massive, loaded it up and my lvl 18 sorc was there and I just picked up where I left off last night on PC, can’t praise Vicarious enough for this seemingly small thing but it’s massive for peeople like me that like to play multi-plat.
So far, so very very good.
I have had not problems on the ps4 love the controls can see everything nicely on the 70 inch tv runs nice and smooth for me
The game runs exceptionally well so far on ps4. Though, the performance of the game is not the issue, it’s mainly the barren online and /players x missing from single player. Hopefully it gets fixed in the future, but I would not recommend buying this game to solely play online, but if you want to play SP then I’d say it’s well worth it even without /players x, just way more of a grind.
