The offline game saving is obviously broken. I’ve lost one character completely after reaching around lvl 21, and the replacement character just lost a days worth of play time.
With the lost character, the character was just GONE after a reload. Items in shared stash were still available and accessible from another character. This was most likely related to a bug with having Online/Offline characters with the same name.
After deleting my Online character (Online play being pretty much pointless and problematic now anyway), I restarted the offline character again. Saved/Quit multiple times to see if the save file would disappear again and after it seemed ok started again. Yesterday I spent a good bit of time completely clearing the second half of Act 1 and had just gotten into town in Act 2 before saving and quitting. Today I start the game and the new character is only halfway through Act 1 again. All items gone, including those in shared stash.
Why is it so hard to figure out how to save game progress?!?
