Title says it all, whether it’s the 40-60 seconds to create a game, or the sometimes 8 second load screens just to get from halls of pain to the halls of vaught. Or any other area that has a decent chance of mobs standing just outside the entrance waiting to kill you while the extremely poor optimization on ps4 does it’s thing.
I’ve tried reinitializing my PS4, I’ve tried using it on an external drive, I’ve even tried just running the game in old school graphics. The lack of optimization choices for us makes certain areas ten times the frustration to farm. Pindle runs are just about useless because it takes easily twice as long to create the game then to get in and kill him.
I understand PS4 isnt a powerhouse gaming computer or next gen console, but I feel like some very poor optimization choices were made regarding performance on a PS4. And as a paying customer it’s just kind of a smack in the face that me and the thousands if not hundreds of thousands of D2R players using the PS4 as our console of choice got left behind because of a lack of effort. If I can load an entire mission on Hitman 3 in 20 seconds, I should be able to create a game and load act 1 in less than 40.
Switch here. Not related to loading itself, but the effect is similar: I’m pis*ed by the FORCED 30 sec battle.net login when starting the game. Why? Because I play offline!
On top of that, its not sufficient to fire up the game and do something else while waiting for the char selection screen. No no no, [insert insane giggle here]: You have first to wait like 30 sec for the title screen to load, than MANUALLY CONFIRM the battle net connection by pressing A. Then wait again 30 seconds. Basically I need to stare for a minute or so on the switch for nothing.
This is such a huge issue. I prefer playing on my PS4 but the time it takes to create a game and load into new areas is obnoxious. Like it’s optimized for the PS5 and the PS4 is an afterthought.
yes, with ps4 pro, when i teleport with scroll or wp, the mobs already hitting me but i only watching the loading screen. many times i already dead affter a wp teleport.
also with teleport skill the game cant follow my pace and the map not loading, i watching the mini map for an entrance or wp, and i have to wait to showing up. offtopic: i want to refund the console version but ps store says i started the game so thats my problem.
My HC sorc died on a black screen trying to get into a wp. That did it for me. Immediately ordered a new ssd and installed it. Works great now. Loading times a 1/2 to 1/3 on my PS4 pro. Runs a lot faster overall too.
Cool story bro, I’m glad you could drop a bill and half fix your issue. Most of us can’t, but thanks for your non input on the issue of the game having not been optimized on platform(s) they were still cool with taking the money from. So while you may have fixed your issue, with a shameless plug by the way, I would assume the majority of us would rather see Blizzard actually care about the PS4/Xbox owners.
But they don’t care. They will not and will never care… the world doesn’t care about people that can’t help themselves. Spend the 100 bucks or play another game. Whining will get you nowhere.
Blizzard has a long history of giving a middle finger to their paying customers. This is just following that pattern.
Well clearly you don’t understand how to read, so I’ll make it simple. In the original post I stated I tried using the game with an external drive, which is an SSD. It didn’t fix any of the load issues, others have had the same problem.
Second, many people, myself included, can’t just simply go drop 100 dollars to try what the random scumbag on the internet said would help.
And speaking of patterns, youve established in two posts that you don’t read things all the way. Maybe you do and your brain chooses to ignore chunks of information like “already tried an external drive” or “some people myself included can’t drop a bill as a solution to a problem in a game” so I’ll just say it more simply for you.
