Have the PC version, just got an Xbox Series X. Wondered if I could pick up my character from one platform to the other, and if having one gave me access to all, or if I’d have to buy the game again.
You have to purchase the game for each platform.
You can play the same character with both platforms as long as they’re both signed into the same account. (Cross progression)
There is no cross play, meaning PC users can’t play with console users.

If I remember correctly, there is cross-progression; you can use the same characters across the different platforms, but, like Jedi said, you have to purchase the game separately for each platform in order to have access to that cross-progression.

Who the heck is going to buy a remake of a 20 year old game, twice… just for that

Here is an odd question can i log in on the PC and console at the same time with 2 different characters???
Im gonna try and answer my own question here maybe not coz of the shared stash, i mean how will that work live if you could.
I tried logging in on my PC version while signed into my Playstation version. It didn’t work. Battle.Net doesn’t seem to allow the same account to be signed into at the same time.
Now if you have 2 different accounts, I’m sure you could, but what would it accomplish?

It’s not uncommon. There’s games I have on my PC that I also own on the switch since the two provide different kinds of playing experience. Obviously most won’t but for some people it’s worth it to have it on multiple systems.
i mean… many people would… i didnt because imo its wrong on so many level, but clearly some people like it
hell i bought 4+ copies of the original d2 so i could get 4 annis per walk. ( you know back in the day when i felt blizzard actually deserved money for a great game)
( back in the days when walks were done by a community for the good of everyone and not selfish streamer pricks on the Asian realm )
dclone method needs to be changed btw… i farmed him for years using the old method between. its still terrible.
100% worth it for me buying on Switch as well as PC. It’s been one of the coolest features of modern gaming.
