Potion Tips (No moar juggling)

Many of you know this, many may not.

  • Quick Loading: When you fill a belt column with 1 class of potion, IE health or mana, it sets that column as a health or mana column. You can shift + Click to move potions from your inventory to those slots without having to cursor drag them there.

  • Extra pots: In the potion belt, starting from the left, the first column is set to health. The second column is set to mana. When those columns become empty, and there are health or mana pots in your inventory an “ethereal pot” will appear in the appropriate column. When you activate that column it will draw from the pots in your inventory until they run out. When they run out the ethereal pot will disappear. Column 3 points to rejuvenation pots, and column 4 points to portal tome. (!!Controller Only!!)

  • Using situational pots: Adding the trick above. You can leave 1 belt column slot for things like thawing potions, or antidotes without having to take up valuable pot slots by feeding off your inventory rather than your belt. So for example you can stick 4 antidotes in slot 4, and add 4 mana pots to your inventory. You don’t actually lose accessible mana pots because column 2 will point to the inventory mana pots.

Want two more spaces for charms? Throw away the tome of town portal and put town portal scrolls in one of your belt slots. As long as you don’t use the last one, picking up TP scrolls will keep the belt loaded with them.

(I know, not potions, but it has to do with the belt)

Had no idea about tip #2. That’s amazing.

Also when buying potions, if you want to buy extra, it’s easier to fill your belt, pick it up to put all of the potions in your inventory, then rebuy them for your belt. You won’t have to buy them one by one.

Are you using a controller? I don’t see any way to “set” a potion slot and I’ve never seen ethereal looking pots in my inventory.

I was wondering about #2 as well. If they have added this for console they need to put that in for PC.

I’ll just bring up that heal and mana pots are not something you need to store. You can buy them easily and they drop like rain. You should never waste your valuable storage space with pots…unless they are Rejuv’s and you are using your personal stash.

I am using a controller on PC.

There is no command to set it. When empty, column 1 will point to health pots, column 2 to mana pots, 3?, and 4 to town scroll. It appears to only work with controller.

I’ve never seen this. If I have mana in spot 4 and I use all the mana pots in that column, then the “4” button does nothing. In fact, if this worked for me I wouldn’t really need a heavy belt - I could use light belts and just spam “4” to use all the mana pots I have.

It will only point if there is an ethereal pot in the belt window, that’s what lets you know it’s pointing to your inventory. I checked it out, and it does not work for column 4, but column 1 will point to health pots, and column 2 will point to mana pots. Column 3 will port to rejuvenation pots, and 4 appears to point to town scroll. It also only works with controller as far as I can tell.
