Having the ability to designate what belt slots automatically populate with certain items on pickup would be handy.
Personally I like keeping a compliment of 3x slots of full rejuvenation potions with one slot for town portal scrolls. As long as I keep one TP scroll, picking up another automatically goes into the belt.
The game has Health, Mana, Rejuvenation, Thawing, Stamina and Antidotes. Your idea should incorporate all the potions within the game. That way everyone can manage their belt the way they want them as well.
Interestiong idea, but it can cause more harm than good in certain situations.
Good for controller players
True. And streamers have complained about this.
really i dont know any situation it would do that… it owuld be quite nice… i mean its already smart enough that once u put your first one it only the same type will stack on top if ut if u use ths shift click to move them into your belt, i dont really see a downside.
what situation are you thinking of?
Honestly I dont know, maybe I was wrong, I had certain situation in mind before but when i am thinking about it, it would probably not be issue.
I think this would be fine, but it already does this as long as you have 1 potion remaining, so it’s not that big of a deal. Also, don’t forget scrolls. If this were a thing I could see people actually putting to scrolls in their belt to save more inventory space for charms.
that is a good point, a spot for a scroll is a decent option with this idea
You already have a hotkey for the tome of portal. Why would you need to identify something quickly?
theres a tp hotkey in d2R?
edit: all i know is (inventory-rightclick tome)
When you have a tome in your inventory, it creates a skill for it on your right mouse button. I personally map it to a hotkey, and use the scroll wheel to switch to it quickly when needed.
Let’s also do a throwback to D1 and add back the ‘feature’ where if you time removing a potion from your belt with picking up an item from the ground, it BECOMES the item from the ground!
Pro-Tip: Using the ‘spell icon’ to open town portals requires your character to perform a ‘cast animation’, while right-clicking a tome or scroll does not. So, the inventory interaction method is both faster and safer.
Not faster when I already have it at my finger.
Well, it IS faster because the portal can be created instantly while running rather than forcing your character to stop and perform casting animation which could be interrupted with recovery frames, but you do you.
yea i see no harm in this, i mean a button that can turn 3 colors above every potion spot, blue red and purple, its a simple idea i think it would be much more convenient than organizing my belt every time i want to keep the same numbers on the same potions
I’d add black, yellow and white to those. You know, antidotes and thawing potions are pretty useful. Stamina potions maybe less so, but they shouldn’t be left out.
It would be easier if they assigned keys to using Heal, Mana, Rejuv. That way it doesn’t matter how its organized in your belt. 1 = Heal 2= Mana 3=Juv.
The only thing is it will need to be based on “biggest” pot available or something.
