I’m assuming the changes to Whirlwind attack speed has something to do with the skill not mirroring well with the overlay.
So a lesser problem was created to solve a bigger problem?
Adding off weapon attack speed to weapon attack speed and including faster run speed, doesn’t open up better build options. It’s the opposite. What you’ve done is slowed down BotD 2 hander builds forcing new BiS which now decreases DS, CB and physical damage.
The fastest 2 hander BotD WW Chaos clear speed I can come up with is Black Hades socketed with 3 x 40/15s and a 40/15 in a Andy’s. It takes twice the amount of time as my 2 hander D2 LoD meta. With this D2R build I’m only getting 15-25% CB and DS drops 15% - this greatly decreases boss kill speed. 30% if I go the 25% CB route. Further, if I go the 25% CB route, I’m losing 30% frw, which slows my kill speed of trash monsters.
This is no longer obtainable
Not to mention 2 handers now have a smaller pool of gloves and amulets they can use effectively, making +2 barb crafted/rare amulets far less viable.
Is it possible to revert the weapon speed changes and added attack speed to the skill Increase Speed - 5% attack speed per point?
This sould fix the current attack speed problem for 2 handers and open up a lot of viable weapon choices, and increases the number of different socketables that can be used in magic, rare, set and unique weapons.
In doing this keep run speed the same, but it’s important to only increase walk speed 50% of what the run speed % is increased. When whirlwinding in walk mod, the skill kills faster due to the attack moving a shorter distance, which keeps the weapon more likely to hitting 1 or 2 monsters instead of diluting the damage on 4+ monsters due to the distance covered in run mode on a single cast. My triangle is most often perfect when in walk mode and that is the most effective way to kill using whirlwing.
Thank you reading this most important subject to me. It is the one problem that has killed all desire in me to play D2R.
