Having max player count set to 1 and a password makes your game effectively single player. Can the player difficulty slider be enabled if those criteria are met? An option to disable multiplayer while online would do the same thing. As a Barb main with no friends, I could really use the extra drop rates!
Blizzard has already spoken about this request, and their reasoning why they aren’t doing it is because they don’t want to give players a reason not to play with other people. It sounds like you play solo anyway, so if that is a feature that you want, you might consider switching to offline play.
Let’s be honest, the real reason they won’t do it is because it cuts down on botting success.

This is why I’d rather have TCP/IP instead of the player command on Bnet. I mostly play solo but I wouldn’t mind the occasional LAN with my brother or to play with my friend with port forwarding or Hamachi.
Just really miss the option.
don’t feed the 0 posts account lmao. just another alt or friend of that one guy who spends several hours a day begging for this feature.
Pardon me, but I clearly stated that I have no friends.
I see. I remember there being talk about this but I never saw the conclusion. I don’t know why the devs wouldn’t want us to play single-player with our online characters… I don’t want a squad taking the drops, and joining random split-farm games is unreliable.
I think running your route and resetting is a perfectly valid way to play and shouldn’t be discouraged.
There is no such thing as “single player online”. By it’s very nature, online is multiplayer.
bc there wasnt
just rhetoric from those against it that tries to present what has been said as definitive when it has not been
as showed in the above vid
he said
Players 8 not for bnet as of right now.
right now in a 2.4 panel means not for 2.4 and thats fine
now, for 2.5? sure i dont see why not
not to mention that recently llama argued for /8 to ssf and before that for solo bnet
now about the guideline of “not pushing people away from MP”
they are completely right to think this way but what they dont realize is that what pushes people away from MP is MP itself, how it is designed to reward griefing, playing solo and bad competition for loot
the auto players setting is one of the factors that makes MP bad
wanna fix MP and stop pushing people away from it?
Remove multiplayer bonus from unpartied players or allow the use of /x in bnet and start balancing/improving MP from there, this way you kill this culture of “playing MP but alone” and than they can focus on what is really needed
i desagree, sharing a server is not what makes a game MP. Is it a requirement? Sure without a shadow of a doubt
Nope. if you want players8 go play offline.
People don’t spend their entire day on the forum, don’t listen to them lmfao. Game needs the option, get over it.
I play single-player online literally all the time. You click the “Play” button when you have an online character selected. Setting it to 1 max player count makes it single-playerer.
No it doesnt u just want the benefits from single player in online game. Im glad Blizzard said no to this.
I understand where OP is coming from. I like solo’ing mainly because it’s hard to find games sometimes. Even in online games I only hop into games to solo some exp at lower-mid levels or MF. The only time I really party with people is for baal runs.
I think a fair compromise would be to let people do up to a /players 3 command. That way they can still reap some benefits of having multiple players but still require partying for the full benefits. There are people that are running multiple clients just to reap these benefits anyway. But maybe Blizzard knows this and wants people to buy more copies of their game that’s why they won’t implement /players command on bnet.
this broken game lobby list which only shows 20 games that are 1-7+ hours old does that already…so including a pX function won’t change anything at all other make the game more enjoyable. can’t have that, can we!
Heh, grabbing for any excuse you can think of to justify bringing /players X to bnet play. It’s like you all are playing darts blindfolded, and after being spun around several times, throwing 100 darts at a time hoping one of them sticks.
Or maybe you can like make/find friends?thats we we play online after all.
its not an excuse when its true
the only thing preventing MP of being good is MP itself and /x wont change this, tbh, it would only improve MP by taking the only reason there are MP snipers in this game
