i do agree for this that if there’s different server for ffa then it’s fine what happens in another one…i don’t care if there’s ploot and flying pink unicorns from whimsydale…
That is only your subjective view of better, and everything you said after, it wont be better in my eyes. I can just reverse all what you said and have just as strong of an argument. So… what now?
Obviously.
That is totally fine.
Now nothing. That is literally how opinions work.
What was the purpose of you even posting this reply to me then?
“To make D2 a little bit better. To get more players into the multiplayer experience. To create a better combat experience where people dont start hugging monsters when they are close to dying.
While not harming the FFA experience in any way.”
Since you even admit yourself its just meaningless words and nothing factual that would change my mind.
Well… You asked me.
No, nothing of it was meaningless words.
Well yeah, i guess nothing wrong with answering a question when asked, but i was kinda expecting a real factual argument in favor of adding it. With such answer you might convince someone.
I am definitely not trying to convince you of anything.
Convince some people? Yeah. But both the aforementioned post, and many others, could do that.
Then why did you choose to reply to my post?
You asked me a question, and I took the opportunity to explain my view.
Besides, more people than you, I assume, are reading these posts.
Ok fair enough i guess my questions were pointed to you on top of everyone, when i scroll up to the original scenario
How do you sure un-offical surveys results thrustworthy? How do you know All survey participents know d2 real lover of d2 ?
Seems to me there are really only two largely based sides to this problem:
1: People who don’t like having to fight over whatever loot drops when killing things in multiplayer modes or getting ganked for no reason, and
2: People who get a kick out of swiping and taking items and generally causing problems for other players as a means of enjoyment.
Not everyone will fall into those two thoughts, but I feel pretty confident those are the primary two reasons we have this problem as a common topic on the forum. But hey, I could be wrong too.
I, for one, support any changes that encourages positive experiences for most players.
I think Blizzard would be ecstatic if Ploot = Diablo 3 outcome. That means more than 30 million copies of D2R with personal loot being sold in less than 4 years.
yeah i never quite understood the whole “it would be bad for blizzard like d3” because as far as blizzard is concerned d3 was a huge success, maybe some devs who worked on it don’t think so, but the company does.
They made a ton of money from the initial sales and then a boat load from the rmah before they scrapped that to make the expansion sell well.
Unchanged D2R = Diablo 2 outcome; Forcing players to play single player due to the game being full of bots and players stealing loot with the pickit scripts.
This has nothing to do with personal loot.
If you changed Diablo 3’s loot system to FFA right at this moment, items would still feel useless.
I could be wrong but I think that’s what folks are actually asking for. I don’t mean 1 item per person, but that it takes the total amount of loot that would have dropped and split it among each member. At least, that’s how I’m understanding what folks mean by ploot. Unsure how it would handle in a situation where you have 8 players and the base drop would have been less than 8. Maybe make it so the minimum drop = at least the number of participants?
That was only in RoS with both ploot and smart loot. D3 Vanilla had ploot but no smart loot. Back in the day, you can get any drop from any class. I would also use the word reward with a grain of salt, because most drops were just trash. Did you play Vanilla? Because legendary drops or any gear with good affixes were very rare. In RoS they included smart loot as well as greatly increase the drop rate.
Sorry if you find my tone argumentative. I’ve just been chatting here and not arguing. Just some points that were made that I thought didn’t make too much sense or have too much of a connection. As someone said above, if you give D3 FFA loot, the game would still be what it is today because loot distribution wasn’t the issue with that game.
If item’s feel worthless, the game becomes pointless. Just like Diablo 3.
So totally agree OP. Don’t ruin the game with this nonsense.
learn some facts d3 was fail at start…
we are going for modern battle.net so do never compare that for old d2 server’s
but as said before there’s lots of games with these loot options for u…minority whines and is trying to ruin the only game that has unique loot system. so rather go play D3/Poe or wait D4 iam sure it’s been made more for the kids that wants “Free”
Here’s the facts
The game set a new record for “fastest-selling PC game” by selling over 3.5 million copies in the first 24 hours of its release, and became the best-selling PC game of 2012 by selling over 12 million copies. As of August 2015, the number of sales had grown to over 30 million
that 30 million figure in august 2015 made it the 10th best selling game of all time at the time, and is currently still at number 19.
