Please restore legacy functionality to the game mouse scroll (up/down) needs to have binds.
(This does not refer to random skill scrolling/Clicking your mouse scroll!)
After playing for 15+ years and 1000’s of hours I am unable to play like this, I love hardcore but I fall into mental and muscle memory while I am teleporting to use my primary damage skills to now teleport to my death.

This will never feel the same and I will always make this mistake randomly it makes me hate this game version.
Please restore legacy functionality or I will no longer be buying this game to play with others and I need to be able to request a refund after you break the game this hard.
Rubbish mate a bot can just as easily use a skill input from a keyboard as a mouse this isnt resolving botting in the slightest.
Unless the argument is parsing timing for skills in a text file in which case… I wish they would use algorithms like that but that does not seem like this company.
There are people / bots running around with edited loot files having high runes covering half their screen without blizzard making a statement whether its allowed or not.
The mouse wheel can no longer be used for abilities when you scroll up and down it no longer works. If you try to bind them you get a message saying “cannot assign to mousewheel”.
This was never a thing just logged off and 15 years functionality of mouse gone overnight.
I haven’t played at all today. i logged on once, couldn’t use my mousewheel skills, got annoyed i couldn’t rebind mousewheel and quit. this is a stupid change
Not for scrolling through skills(you can still do this) for binding a specific ability to either mouse wheel up or down. You have no idea what is being referred to because you can’t read.
Perhaps you should try not to be so condescending. The OP, as I read it, referred specifically to mouse scroll. What you stated was specifically unable to bind (presumably) to mouse scroll wheel click. There is a difference, and the OP did not state scroll wheel click, they stated just “scroll”, which implies using the up and down functionality to cycle between skills using the scroll wheel, not binding a skill directly to the scroll wheel click.
Mates title says mouse wheel scroll, they broke the ability to scroll up/down using your mouse for individual abilities on PC not the mouse wheel click that still has functionality.
There is a caption that pops up “cannot assign to mousewheel” if you try to assign abiities now
Also @ the other gent, I Do not have quick cast on, in hardcore with teleport that sounds like a deathtrap. Tried toggling back and forth and still got “cannot assign to mousewheel”. If you know another way to fix this so I can pull up two primary skills + you have checked in game lmk

They could rectify this by addong an option in the Controls pane to toggle mouse wheel scroll available while quick cast is active. This seems like an easy peasy fix while allowing the most possible choices for how to operate the game.
I made an effort to be condescending to the person that replies to virtually every question or complaint with “The rift guardian awaits you”. Also " If you try to bind them you get a message saying “cannot assign to mousewheel”. Seems pretty clear to me.
Again in prior post mates I tried both quick cast on (not my standard) and off (standard) to see if either worked with mouse scroll abilities and none do as of the last patch try it in game if on PC
I think the reason the options change when you select quick cast is related to the input system’s limited number of channels but I could be wrong on that.
In any case it looks as if using quick cast with the mouse wheel skill cycle is not compatible.
I’m currently cycling my skills with mouse wheel. so maybe i’m misunderstanding the problem.
Skills plural you are cycling a random assortment of skills not a locked in skill that you put on both up and down on PC
Example blizzard on scroll up, firewall on down (hotkeys that would normally be f1 / f2)
I want functionality to lock my skills as it was before on PC

Try assigning a skill directly to mousewheel (up/down) after new patch on PC before posting how it works ffs.
If you have a working version lmk how I revert versions / show me a screen
Bless you m8. Scroll and Cycle are not interchangeable. It is broken, enabling or disabling quick cast has no effect. It would be nice if Blizzard could acknowledge and clarify if it is intentional or not.
