Please remove the black bars

They serve no purpose. The game still renders the are behind them, the mobs are still targetable, killable, and name-lockable under them.

The only thing is does is prevent people from SEEING what’s under them. If you have an ultrawide display, and your card/ processor can render the whole thing, LET US SEE WHAT OUR PC IS RENDERING.

Thanks.

Mobs will not respond outside of that blackbar, so basically you can nuke anything you want, without any consequence.

That’s the point to keep you from seeing thing that can’t fight back… The reasons were stated before release. I really don’t care my self but it’s not going to be changed.

I know… and that’s EXACTLY how I play… kill them before they get in range… safer and easier. I’m not seeing a problem… I can still do it.

And we know that you know, but you don’t get why that’s a bad thing.

It’s 2021 yet they can’t even do Ultrawide correctly or add 4:3 support for people that still want to use Legacy

Wow, it’s African American bars… its 2021 and this is still happening, shame on you.

its dumb not to have 4:3 for legacy yeah, they should do that… but ultrawide support is stupid… enemies wont even respond to damage at that range.
the game’s graphical overlay may be new. but the CODE its running on is is still 20 years old.

allowing you to attack enemies at a range they are programed to not respond in is beyond stupid, not to mention it would completely break pvp and teleport.

it would be horrendously stupid to add this… go wait for d4 or player another game, not every damn thing in existence has to support your ultra wide monitor. you get get a LITERAL gamebreaking advantage because you whine for it.

And? First, I don’t give a rats fat behind about PVP or any impacts on it. PVP can die in a fire for all I care. Don’t want it, use legacy mode, or whatever. PVP can burn.

Second, how does killing monsters that can’t respond in a PVM game affect you AT ALL? Again, if you don’t like it, don’t do it. I AM ALREADY DOING EXACTLY THAT. It doesn’t change my gameplay in the slightests… I would just like to actually see what the game is rendering.

ur asking for them to break the game.

No, it’s already broken. I just want to see what’s “behind the curtain”. We know it’s there, it’s still there, they just covered it up. If they don’t want it to be there, then make the engine not render it.

OP wants game to be easy and cheat.

One month before d2r comes out Blizzard.
“Ultrawide is not supported. It breaks the game”

Ultrawide users now. " it’s not supported waaahhhh".

It’s just like mac users complain when d2 isnt on apple even though it says it’s not on apple computers on product page. Hilarious

No. I don’t want to cheat. If you had half a brain, you’d realize I simply want them to show me what’s being rendered. I can already kill what’s behind the bars, I just want to see it. And the game was supporting ultrawide during Beta. The only reason to hide what’s being shown is because it’s easier then not having the game render what’s there.

Why make your system render content that you can’t see? Because they wanted to support ultrawide, but found that a few characters could kill the mobs without agro. And that’s JUST FINE, because those characters can still do it… like I am now…

Killing what’s behind the black bars isn’t cheating. If you don’t want to do it, then don’t… but don’t hide what your game is making my PC render. If you don’t want me to see what’s there… DON’T RENDER IT until it is.

Ahahahaha getting so much pleasure right now

“I don’t care about what affects others (PVP breaking), just give me what I want (no black bars).”

Holy cow… entitled much?

Actually, I care… I want PVP to BURN. Anything that destroys pvp and makes it unplayable is a bonus for me.

This has to be trolling.

‘allow me to cheat plz, it does not affect others’

wait… it does.

‘only in a part of game I don’t play and don’t like, so that can be ruined, I don’t care’

k

If serious. you should be asking for a change to actually stop rendering the game behing the bars to reduce gpu/cpu load, because the bars are intended, the rendering is not.

Um… if you read the above… I did. They didn’t stop if from rendering… they left it in and hid what was behind it. Why? Who knows. Lazy I guess.

And you can’t say the rendering is not intended as that’s how they programmed it to function. If it’s in the game, the only thing stopping us from seeing it was the limitations on the size of the monitor. If you don’t have an ultrawide, well tough cookies for your. Not everyone should be punished simply because they can afford a better monitor.

There was a talk to patch -in an option in the game to “Zoom” your screen so the lateral bars would disappear. You’d be giving up a bit of vertical view, but you’d hide the black bars.

They talked very seriously about it, hinting it was coming very soon… then?
Nothing.

I’m still waiting for that, as it’s the setting I’d set it to right away.

Thing is, some monitors don’t have the black bars, others do. My friend and I both run a UHD monitor. His screen is full to the edges with the game. mine has the 1.5 inch black area on both sides.
