Please put PERSONAL LOOT

That’s a very assumptive statement. I’m positive I have more hours into this game than you, by a lot. I have also played quite a bit of D3. I do not use pick-it.

The amount of drops are extremely low as it is. If you enabled PLoot you would literally see good gear once every few days. How do you manage PLoot on bosses? They are just not going to drop anything if the RNG rolls the wrong way?

PLoot worked in D3 because the drop rate was stupid high. PLoot does not work in D2.

It would also split the community and give you less games to pick that you prefer, to an already dwindling community.

If people are concerned about bots and pickit, maybe Blizz should work on fixing that issue first and foremost.

then it’s normal for you to prefer FFA and you would play FFA.
in the end like i said it’s preferences.
personally i mostly play solo MF.
but i’d like some multiplayer fun with others without needing to actively looking at the floor or be on edge for example. (even if i’am too able to take most items usually too , but item wise i mostly go for solo)
also , it’d avoid what often happen to me in FFA : me being the only one to continue attacking boss after it’s below 50% xD

in the end it all boils down to preferences (if that were to be implemented)

in the end it all boils down to preferences (if that were to be implemented)

Yes, and this is another issue that I see. People would be playing two very different games.

not really , same game but loot allocation would be different
but it doesn’t change the game itself nor the amount of items

D3 had stupidly low drop rate for the first 3 months of it , lower than D2. and unique were very bad in term of stats.
yet it still worked with personal loot.
(though yea , they increased the drop like crazy and made soul bound item aswell when there was the auction house catastrophe and the change of dev)

FFA loot is how this game works.
You should go play WoW if you want personal loot.

FFA loot is one of the best parts of this game. I LOVE getting in game with my IRL’s and then beaking them when I beat them to a drop in the throne.

Do you click too slow to get any good drops? not my problem.
Are you scared to dash into the thick of it on hardcore to get that rare drop? not my problem.
Are you trying to ruin the game by asking for personal loot? This is a problem.

I have thousands upon thousands of hours in this game. What is being suggested is to implement random assignment of items. This essentially gives everyone Pickit, but fairly uses it. The alternative, that you support, is to have an incentive to use Pickit. All that is being suggested is the OPTION to use a round robin loot assignment system. It is nothing like the D3 system. There is no logical reason to be against this. If there is, please explain. I’m not sure why you would see less good gear in this system vs. a system where most of the time, someone is using Pickit and gets all the boss drops. Please explain.

The answer is to just make a MF barbarian and wait till everyone leaves the corpses and start digging through them, no competition then lol.

actually , you don’t even need that , MF looting barbarian is the best MF build in the game for pindle run, it’s so boring though to only kill pindle over and over (it’s good for the pit too )

that aside ,for scavenger it’s doable whether it’s FFA or Ploot. (though in ploot , people would have to be at the minimum 2 or 3 screen away so that the loot isn’t allocated to them)

though that too would be boring

  • Split community - You would have groups of people who would never play in each others game
  • Game play style - You would have even MORE people not attacking things since they know they’re 100% confirmed people wont pick up drops

Maybe you disagree with those, bit I believe that would happen and would be detrimental.

And why are we normalizing pickit in d2r as if it will be prevalent? Blizzard should ban users who use bots and find ways to actively find these people.

The simple solution to your second point is to simply not choose the option for ploot. So your only real point is that you think it would split the community. I don’t really understand what you’re saying. Everyone meets in the same lobby. Everyone will go to the same trading rooms to try to trade. This is like saying that we should not have the ability to make rooms like “Baal run23” Because there are players that don’t like to farm Baal and it would split the community. It doesn’t really make much sense.

So all we have are a pile of absolute positives vs. nothing. There is no reason to avoid implementing this. This is not even an opinion. Is an objective fact. Like I said, there are no logical arguments to counter this. This is not a matter of preference. Adding the option simply adds positive quality of life to the game, objectively, and takes away nothing, objectively.

No. Everybody for this has no understanding of how the game works. None what so ever. All they are concerned with is that they didn’t get a unique or set item they think they should have.

The amount of stuff people leave on the ground that is good and useful is amazing. But all you geniuses with your tunnel vision can’t comprehend that.

The only way I see personal loot working in this game is to gray out items for a couple of seconds for the winner to get first chance at it. Know what that caused in PoE? People stop playing and stand around an item like vultures to try and spam click it when the item winner isn’t quite fast enough.

Such a huge bunch of whining idiots.

Oh shut up. Nobody cares. And apparently not because if you did you could make a point without having to put out your “credentials.” lol.

“useful” is relative.
It’s not useful to the person leaving it there. The reality of the situation is either picking a version of Diablo 2 where boss drops are collected by one person in a public group because they have Pickit, vs. the option to round Robin the items.

It seems to me the only person that would be against the latter, would be one as a fan of the Pickit script. That could be why there is such a huge emotional response to a suggestion that fixes it, and leaves no need for Pickit.

All of these arguments against it are extremely flimsy and make no sense. I was arguing in favor of FFA up until yesterday when I acknowledged that I had no logical standing. That’s also why you’re seeing so many emotional responses that are baseless because there is nothing logical to stand upon.

The only sound argument in this entire debate is to install the option for a round robin item assignment. The current default is all drops being picked up by one person using Pickit. I have to question anybody that would support such a system

And it’s replying. Probably something about how many hours they spent and all their accomplishments. D2jsp, forum gold, permed items… probably something about objective facts regarding what they think and then everybody else is just wrong “not even an opinion.” Wouldn’t doubt them posting about their IQ score they received on a Facebook quiz and then they start in about how horrible mainstream music is. Probably wears a beanie and has a Starbuck’s order that requires 21 steps with 7 and a half pumps of caramel. . . . blah blah blah.

You should follow the whole conversation. I was being accused of being a new player. I was simply responding to that. I was not listing credentials to try to make myself look good. That’s what the guy I was responding to was doing.

So, you have no argument left?
The rational person changes his opinion at that point.

Sniffs around Hey, somebody ate my troll bait! It was the pumpkin spice scented one too :frowning:

This is how you know you’re debating a true intellectual. :face_with_monocle:

Please use the word logic or reason one more time. It’ll instantly make you right and all opposing opinions wrong. (inb4 “do YOU have a logical argument against it? No? then im right”)

See all of you have just insults. Nothing substantive. I’m repeating it to drive the point home. You’re doing a nice job of confirming it.

It’s kind of like the invincible ignorance fallacy.
