Please Please Please consider adding at least one new runeword for ladder 10 to make it special

Hi Blizzard,

There haven’t been any proper updates since Ladder 6. Could you please, please, please add just one new runeword? This is already Ladder 10, and we’re all still waiting for even a small change in the game. Shouldn’t Ladder 10 be special since it’s the 10th?

Nah

Why add new stuff that either broken op or broken garbage

When you can use that same time and energy to improve already existing stuff

Which ultimately makes the game better on average by having less bad asset and having more better ones

That’s also a good idea, but my main point is making some changes to the game, whether it’s introducing new runewords or modifying existing ones. Either way, it will make the game feel more alive.

Instead of picking fights and causing unnecessary drama, we should come together and support the changes we want. That way, Blizzard will clearly understand what we’re really asking for.

It’s a better idea to update older RW and RWs that are just bad for the rune cost, or bad in general, for a new ladder. It could be retroactive or not, but either way you get something exciting for a new ladder. Extend that to uniques as well. Just about every ultra rare unique item is actually terrible. Then you have sets as well which could use a lot of attention. For example, completing Griswold’s is a massive amount of farming, more than most HR RWs, and you get nothing to show for it performance wise.

Totally agree with some of the expensive first released runewords. Fury, Jah + Gul + Eth, for example is a terrible runeword for the cost. Lots of these should be able to either have Indestructible, or self repair to help bring the up to par, or possibly introduce a new modifier similar to “-% reduced enemy lightning resist” but apply for physical - “-% reduced enemy physical resistance” would go a long way.

Options to help some of these older weapon RWs:
Self repair
Indestructible
Damage buffs
Ways to pierce physical damage
Grant an interesting oskill that’s not going to be OP

Are you out of your mind? Do you know what happened last time they added new runewords? I can tell you, its Mosiac that happened. so, NO THANKS!

I could agree, but then i am looking at mosaic, and i am sure it is better if they dont do more harm now.

This game is full of stubborn old fossils afraid of change. No wonder Blizzard doesn’t bother patching it.

They 100% need to remove Mosaic at the end of the season and create new RWs that aren’t D3 items. The other RWs that were added alongside Mosaic aren’t bad creations.

They also need to add a 15-30 elemental pierce roll to the immunity breaking charms. It should be 30-50 for magic specifically because there’s nothing else in the game to support magic damage. Bone Break should be like 10-20.

I know lit sorc and hammerdin are strong, I don’t care, nobody should care that the best builds in the game are strong. There are no cold and fire versions of Griffon’s Eye, combing FCR with amp and pierce, what can you do? Hammerdin in general is overrated for how strong it actually is. It just carries a reputation from when the game was less explored. I personally would take any sorc build in the current game over a hammerdin for farming. The weaker builds need to be playable so that they become a real choice.

I’m not picking fights
Just saying that there is so much garbage in the game already that it’s better to invest in improving the overall quality of items by addressing the existing bad ones which already have a Diablo 2 identity

This can be easily done through

The unique upgrade mechanic:
https://youtu.be/WfYnHIv80WQ?si=9Uqi-DUA_y0qL1J2

The removal of specific item type restriction on runewords

improving existing lacklustre runewords

making different bases have different perks

etc

And that’s why the game will die.

It’s not that much that they are old fossils
But rather nostalgic people using this game to send them in the past when they were kids where they didn’t yet become a huge disappointment for everybody around them

I played some and parented a lot - my kids are awesome and i’m super proud of them.

I’m pretty sure i speak for many that all we need is for blizz to hit the reset button on the ladder.
Has kept us coming back over 20 years.

If they want to add new stuff fine but i’m not expecting it for a game that is a one time purchase.

0 new content patches is just pure commercial decission, they still think if they force enough D2 players just jump to D4 LOL

They dont know or dont want to know if that players switch to another game they probably switch to PoE2 or just leave arpg’s.
