Andariel badly needs to be nerfed. At this point she drops so good, it makes no sense to farm elsewhere than Terrorized Andariel. I think I can remember a D2R patch which changed all her drops to the quest drop (no junk or gold + increased set drops). That alone may be bearable, but the Terrorized (desecrated treasure class) origins from the quest drop, which is absolutely insane. No other Boss/Monster in the game has a combination of quest drop and terrorized drop. TZ Andariel cannot drop any junk or gold and can drop literaly every droppable item in the game. This makes her drops even better than Baal TZ, plus she is easy to reach, easy to kill and has a killing blow for the monsters around her.
At least the terrorized/desecrated drops should be nerfed to be equal to all other bosses. Thats still really good. I would even nerf the drop table down a little, so she does no outperform baal.
At this point unique farming is trivialized by binging andariel TZ.

No. But the last time I played ladder (3 seasons ago?) the play style turned into checking when Catacombs is TZ and only farm then (after aquiring basic gear). Everything else feels inefficient. If she would drop without the “quest buff” this wouldnt be an issue. I also know a couple of other players thinking the same.
Offline I play my own mod which includes the fix and it’s way more fun, because you arent tempted to “wait” for andy tz and the other TZs or even non TZ feel rewarding again.
You’re going to have a difficult time convincing the player base as a whole to nerf Andarial TZ drops. Blizzard is well known to be anti-nerf anyway. A better solution would be to make all bosses quest drop like Andariel.
i’ll have to keep an eye up for it i guess. i never catch andy tz… i played all weekend and didnt notice one andy tz either… but maybe it’s because i didnt care
usually goes “oh look a tz! but ima stay here and keep farming chaos sanct.”
I know what you mean and in general I’m also not a big fan of nerfs. In this case I’d say less is sometimes more. I played a notable amount of hours with and without the nerf and it’s definitely more fun when it’s nerfed/balanced. Ngl the first couple of runs felt a bit dull, but then the freedom to farm other areas came in really nicely.
By the way another required nerf in this category would be Mosaic. It’s so crazy op no other char can compete in farming or leveling, but I don’t want to discuss it in this thread.
A little bit of imbalance is natural, fun and ok, but there are a few exceptions.
you know that Andariel can’t drop every item in the game right ? and some of them have an absurdly low rate compare to other bosses
while she definetly shine for some items…other bosses still are very worth farming for item Andariel can’t drop or that is abysmal chance for her to drop
im confused… normal andy is always quest bugged in d2:R, EXCEPT when she is terrorized.
her drops are WORSE when she is terrorized because its the only time she has non quest loot drop tables
people just do not know how this game works
sure she can drop a larger pool of better items with a higher ilvl, but the drops themselves… are much more likely to be trash.
It’s not that bosses have too good drops. It’s Teleport that makes this farming strat good. Only 1 out of 7 classes can do it (until Enigma) and it’s unintended result of power creep because you were supposed to mostly walk to boss and kill mobs on the way that obviously takes a lot more time.

Andariels TZ class is a copy of her quest drop class tuned up by lvl. So she can drop literaly everything and with better odds than baal tz.
for clarification: andariel tz always drops from andarielq desecrated. the other bosses have no quest desecrated.

so why on earth they would change that since 2.4 i have no idea.
granted a few people did complain her terrorized drops were worse than her normal drops. i myself asked why. but it never once occurred to me that that’s something they would actually change.
i was one of the people who was surpised when i noticed my drops were worse becuase i assumed she WAS q bugged when she was terrorized, and it wans’t until multiple people told me my drops were worse because terrorized andy didnt have Q bug activated. in conjunction with my own experience with getting much worse drops. that i accepted it as true.
Didn’t some dude do a 1000 TZ andy run showcase? And… Showed that while she’s good she’s not that good? Idk what the op is on about really. She could drop tyrael’s I guess, but that would likely require 10k runs which will need a lot of TZ hours, or you could just farm the lvl85 and/or other TZs to get that?
Really trying to understand what the issue really is. What did you get without your “mod” that made you quit playing that style, why was it so easy, give us some concrete examples.
I agree andy needs to be nerfed, as a mostly SSF/GSF player online i feel obligated to spam andy during that TZ whether i need the levels or not. Her drop table is way to generous and she is extremely easy to farm. Having said that it probably doesnt make sense to drop her monster level but instead change only her drop table…
But then again i dont play sorc… Hate the “200 fcr tp to boss” playstyle, its just too boring… I do however love Travincal TZ
