Add corruption to the game

this concept adds so much fun and extends the chase for the best gear in such an interesting way!

For those who dont know, Corrupted items is a concept that comes from POE and got used in POD and PD2. It consist in using consumables called Soulstone shard that rarely drops, you put them in your cube with an item and it has a small chance of adding a mod from a predetermined list… and a high chance of making that item disapear

Its high risk, low odds gambling

It brings a lot a depth to the endgame gear grind and gives a little bit more spice to non-runeword items

got it, added to d4 wishlist

This guy again…

So by your logic, if you ask for a spaghetti at the restaurant and when you get served you ask the waiter for Parmesan on it, he has to put Parmesan on the dessert of the guy sitting at the next table

sekscalibure with his asinine logic & analogies.

no the analogy is d2 is rustic pizza, d3 is hawaiin pizza, and with d4 blizz is ready to put whatever toppings you want on it.

Watch it, OP doesn’t like when people disagree with him.

Change this, change that. It’s a wonder why he bought D2:R.

“Classic gameplay—the same Diablo II you know and love, preserved.”

oh i know 1000% what i signed up for by replying in this thread.

he wants it more like PoE then why doesn’t he just play PoE? smh…

there are so many flavors of ARPGs out there to choose from, why do we need to change existing games especially d2 which is a relic… that is literally the whole point of new games in the series to introduce these new changes…

tbf id take divine orbs with my luck here

i’d kinda like to be able to orb of annulment away the teleport mod on occy as well lol

It’s a great feature for POE and PD2 and i do not disagree that Blizz could add something similar to it to D2R. However instead of copying and pasting ideas i think it would be much better if they just created their own original version of it. And perhaps it would be even better suited for the future like in D4.

Diablo 2 was the cornerstone in defining the hack’n’slash ARPG genre, and D2:R should be faithful in preserving the game. Minor QoL, minor skill balancing I’m open to.

You just said it, I want Diablo 2 with that POe inspired mechanic…

Why are you telling me to wait for D4 or go play POe if what I want is to play D2

It’s funny how you purists ignore or simply don’t have the mental capacity of considering that there could be 2 versions of D2R, the nostalgic one and the improved one

So you want Diablo 2 - Roblox edition… Which includes a different variation of the game for everyone who for some reason bought the game, yet hates the original game for what it is.

So if you love your girlfriend and she has a strange addiction of snorting asbestos… by your logic you hate her if you try to make her stop doing it

Because wanting something you love to be better and last longer is actually hating it

it is only improved FOR YOU! now you aren’t the only person here who wants these types of changes but if we were to take a poll of yall would be the minority. the majority of us just wants to keep the majority of the gameplay as original as possible. QoL stuff, maybe some buffs to worthless spells + items/runewords, that’s cool. adding totally new mechanics to the game, not a fan.

and again with these analogies, so much suckage…nearly every time it is about people who want d2r to say as true to the original painted as people who are ok with drug addicts, domestic abuse, etc…what a toxic mindset… sekscalibure you have done so much complaining on these forums, why are you playing? play lost ark. my brother gave it to me on steam, i don’t care for it. i wish i could gift it to you.

If by “us” you mean purists… then yes

But the vast majority of players want changes

https://strawpoll.com/yaj32pu4h/r

People want to push the boredom barrier even further to play the game they love for even longer

When you played Diablo 2 your whole life, D2R comes out and within a week you are done with it

450 votes eh? Great sample size. Not biased at all.

ok sure, but in reality meaningless. the majority of those who even bother clicking on threads/polls are ones that want change. the rest are busy playing the game.

i played classic d2 from 2001-2011 and I am still happily playing D2R from day 1 to now along with my 12 year old boy.

Guitar:

Also Guitar:

Also… nobody will keep people from playing the original game if there are changes lol purists are only against changes because they know they’ll be alone playing the vanilla version… all they want is to force other people in their fetish

Go ahead, tell me where the bias is, what’s wrong with the sample size

Who do you think cares more about polls, and thus are more likely to participate; those who want changes, or those who are happy with the game the way it is?

alone?? there are people still playing classic D2! looking at the number of people happily trading on D2JSP I would be totally fine only playing with those folks and for yall on the blizz forums to quit playing, it won’t change the experience one bit!

But Diablo 4 isn’t Diablo 2, most likely won’t be and that for at least 2 more years

If you love your wife, but think she’d be better with bigger Boobs but your weird neighbour loves her like… are you going to instead pay a boobjob to your lady coworker in hope that in 2years you both fall in love
