Please give us ebugging back

For those who might not know what ebugging means:

Ebugging a piece of Armor in Diablo 2 is a well known trick that boosts the armor’s Defense by 50% while adding Sockets to it. In order to Ebug a piece of Armor you’ll need a plain piece of Ethereal Armor (Not Low Quality or Superior) as well the appropriate items to do the combine in the Horadric Cube.

The most common uses for Ebugged Armor and Helms are for very powerful Mercenary gear. When a Mercenary dies or takes damage their gear will not suffer any durability loss. For this reason, a Mercenary can wear a piece of Ethereal gear indefinitely without ever worrying about it breaking

It´s really sad to see this being “fixed”. It´s nothing big, it´s not gamechanging, but it´s one of the things that gives D2 that incredible depth which is the reason this game is alive for more than 20 years.

We we´re told that:

“Anything we identify as bugs or anything that misinforms the players we are going to try and fix. Somethings though we may identify them as quirks with situational use that will be left as part of the game.”

Please keep true to that last sentence and add ebugging again!

Another option is give the mercs better AI. The only reason I ever used ebug armors was to pump up the A2 mercs defense, because he’ll just keep fighting until he dies. Give mercs better pathing capabilities for mazy maps and make mercs flee combat when they get below 10% health, which will give you more of a chance to heal them and help them survive a bit more on their own.

I agree on that, if you dont have teleport your merc is somewhere you dont want him… we will survive without ebug, but they focus on wrong stuff in d2r ^^

100% agree. I don’t even understand all the people cheering for this removal… It’s not like it had any issues or influenced anyone, not using this. It simply added a little bit of depth.

I 100% disagree on that.

And what is bad about ebugging? Please tell me. Obviously, the argument “a bug has to be removed” is BS, because only because devs didn’t plan it, doesn’t mean, it is a bad thing.

Where did I say that it is a bad thing? I am saying it is a bug which clearly it is and a bug in a game needs to be fixed, period, it is a bug that it not supposed to be in the game in the first place. You still didn’t show me where blizzard stated that the ebug is seen by them as a feature and not a bug, I wanna see the source for this otherwise it is just a wild claim.

Yeah. 50% amor boost is not gamechaning. Lol guys… dont know that so “many” d2 players are hardcore bugusers and cant play the game legit.

Holy … That’s it? That is what you are able to contribute to this discussion? Wow. I think i need to take some time thinking about it.

What if you would think before writing?

Ethereal bugged items are a big part of the itemization of the game, many of the rarest, more desired and expensive items are eth bugged exiles and also the merc armors are a big part of the game, many of us still remember some of the perfect ebugged defenses on some armors like the 1350 def sacred armor. Removing this is a big loss for the game.

I’m sorry no one understands the complexity that was my comment XD… I was constructing a thought provoking parallel.

Afura stated that his view was that any bug, regardless of if people like the bug or not, needs to be removed. So I ask again, what if your life was a bug? What if people viewed you as a flaw that needed to be removed? Perhaps you might change your opinion on removing bugs simply because they are bugs.

If a bug is loved and accepted for 20 years then maybe it should become a feature.

Let go of your prejudice and open your heart.

This should be considered the same way as andy bug was and kept into the game. It hurts no one and makes the itemization deeper and more diverse.

Fixed it. 0123456789

I have to ask you to not modify my words when you quote me.

What about andy bug?

I never said, blizzard thinks it is a feature. I said, it’s become a feature, because it adds to the game and the community wants it. After all, blizzard develops these games, to satisfy the community, because that’s where the money lies.

If it is not a bad thing, but in fact adds to the depth of the game, then your whole „argument“ about a bug being a bug is even more stupid. It doesn’t matter, if it was intended / if the devs planned it! It is good for the freaking game you moronn!

The prove, that you, PaChu are just trolling. Not even arguing, but provoking others for fun.

After all, that’s all you guys come up with against the e bug.

Dev’s decided it is imbalanced and should be taken out. Theres nothing more to add, no matter how much you cry, troll, make stuff up, dev said no.

Was ebug fixed in beta and tested? This is something that they won’t fix. I think I read earlier they specifically said they won’t fix ebug.

The bugs they are fixing and confirmed are the quick stacking poison spell from Nihilak serpents for example.

Simply wrong. The devs have listened to the feedback in this forums multiple times now. Most importantly they have changed their mind about the publicly announced ultra wide support!

If enough fans read these threads and support the e bug to come back, they might overthink their decision.

Also it is not imbalanced! It’s not a bug, you use like glitching through walls. It influences you item hunt and makes it more interesting! If you get to find a suitable base, you still have to invest runes and pgems for a chance to get the right amount of sockets.

Then still, you have to have the runes for a good RW.

This is a whole mechanic in itself, adding depth to the item hunt and to the RPG elements, because the e bug is something you have to know about on the first place.

I think, removing it shows a severe lack of knowledge about the ebug. It was never a bad or overpowered thing imo.

In fact, it is a whole lot of runes or farming time spent, just to improve on the worst stat, you can improve upon on D2: armour.
