Can we get rid of levels, stat points, and skill points while we are at it? Characters start at level 99, max stats and max skill tree. Also, Can we get an real money auction house so I dont have endless grind bosses for gear? Need to make sure I can experiment with builds. I also need to be done with this game in 2 days so I can play New World. /sarcasm
As others have stated this is already in the game. Something being “too much work” isn’t reason to give a person what they want.

I really like that new players are coming to D2. I just dont like the carebare aspect they sometimes push.
The answer is no. We dont want a Diablo 3 clone here. D2 was always the best and always will be. If we wanted D3 we would have left to go play that game instead.
This game is alittle more hardcore then D3 and thats what makes it a good game. You want unlimited repsecs? Soon its going to be just “give you everything at lvl 1 wtihout doing any work for it” hmm no thanks.
You can already get 3 free respecs and you can farm items to basically give you unlimited respecs. Yes you gotta do some work to get them. To bad! Work for them if you want it!
If any “unlimited respec” option were ever given to this game, I’d only agree with it if it had a 24/48/72 hour cooldown and the cooldown can be ignored with ToA.

i think its funny people in here talking about " no thanks on unlimited respecs " when in fact there is already unlimited respecs what a joke you look like comparing unlimited respecs to diablo 3 when d2 infact does have unlimited respecs but let me tell you

it’s fine for other games, that were designed for it.
But this game is a rogue like. essentially. Every time you make a new character, it should be a new experience.
Also respecs decrease overall gear value. Or rather, people remaking characters reintroduces items adding them to the “community pool” so to speak, effectively curbing inflation.
It’s supposed to teach you to play with what you got.
Maybe you want to add an editor to where you can design your gear and load it unto your character, saves working for it as well, maybe even changing character level at command?
Personally I prefer the option to change 1 time, 1 time for not having to cookie cut during leveling your char, use skills etc and when your high enough level you change your stats to the final version.
3 is kinda ok, not a problem with it, but personally prefer 1.

It gives you tons of possibilities to get experiment with various build.
In D2 vanilla the Jamella Hero Editor helped here.
You could ajdust your character to the acts needs, especially in higher difficulties.

like, for console players in particular, there could be options for people. lots of people played open bnet. TONS actually. most of them hackers, but that’s cool. ya know. For console players… it seems like it would be cool to have an option. to like, play on open bnet, to open up some major QoL issues that you’ll run into if you don’t have access to a keyboard + chat lobbies.
