Please add Ilvl to item tooltip

im in act 5 on normal and got a HALBERD on frozen river. I was going to use it for insight base, but when using Laz i got 6 sockets. Please display iLvl

Edit: I just learned elite enemies and enemies from the evil jars are actually a much higher level, but you wouldn’t know that, because there is no tooltip showing that

Im level 24 and its my first run through act 5. not a terror zone. ill literally trade the halberd with 6 sockets for a 4 socket polearm. i just dont understand how this happened

While I am in favor of seeing ilvl on items, I can’t help but question how you got 6 sockets from Larzuk on a poleaxe dropped in Normal? First, a poleaxe can only get up to 5 sockets. Second, a poleaxe dropped in Normal at the Frozen River (area lvl=29) should have gotten 4 sockets from Larzuk.

https://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/normal/polearms.shtml

Evil Urns spawn a unique monster pack, the unique is alvl+3, the supporting minions are alvl+2, just like any other unique pack that would have spawned with map generation. The minions would be the only ones who can drop a white/grey item, as the unique can only drop magic or higher quality items.

Unless of course you were playing the area while it was terrorized. Depending on your character level, that can make items even from normal roll their max sockets. (Regular monsters in normal can be up to lvl 45 regardless of what area you’re in.)

OP has since edited that it was a halberd. Monster level and thus item level is not equal to area level in Normal, that’s only the case in Nightmare and Hell. Normal monsters use whatever mlvl is specified in monstats.txt, abominables are mlvl 41, blood temptress are mlvl 42, and rotwalkers are mlvl 31.

The halberd must have dropped from an abominable or a blood temptress and thus was ilvl 41 or 42, receiving 6 sockets from Larzuk.

As for the OP yes I wish item level were on the tooltip, it could be done as a toggle in the gameplay options menu. Ilvl display is easily done in single player mods, it’d be cool if Bnet had the option as well.

this would be a great quality of life feature.

Ilvl is already a field in world/owned item packets and showing this on item tooltip could likely be achieved by editing a single line of code.

This was requested prior to release and was shouted down by the same trolls who are now shouting down anything that would disrupt the current botting/rmt capture of the ladder system.

Neo-Buzzard and those involved with this product were incredibly dishonest, inept, and arrogant in regards to their still incomplete ‘work’. It seems likely that those who weren’t already fired or repurposed have abandoned their tasks.

Because of this, your only legit option (though cheating would likely go unpunished) is to be hyper-vigilant with bases. Know the minimum sockets. The Secret Cow Level un-terrorized on normal is handy for 4os polearms and swords of normal quality. For high quality bases know the max sockets or gamble with the horadric cube.

I fully support adding Ilvl to the item tooltip.

And we all know that it is pretty simple to implement.

Yes please. Ilvl should be shown

There’s not a whole lot as far as changes to D2:R that the community largely agrees on… But here were are, showing ilvl on items along with moving Cain next to the stash in Act 5… Both are largely agreed on by the community.

Will they happen? I’m not getting my hopes up. A dev might have to burn a whole 50 calories typing and committing that code. Think of all of the deborking they could do to the D4mpsterfire in that 30 minutes of time.

Agreed.

Also would be nice if you spawned next to stash when you log in. Barely changes act 1, act 4 and act 5. Huge improvement for A2 and A3.

But as we all know nothing will happend☺️

Was there really anybody that shouted ilvl and area level display down?
I know some people will go against any change, but still…

Can’t imagine anybody would be against that change. When I read that by Johnson quoted Trollok I just can’t stop laughing xD

People claim stupid things without any proof lol.

Itemlvl, moving Cain and fixing the bugged Questwindow are things I’d really like to see.

Are you mad? You cannot force that poor old fragile man to move thru half of Harrogath! He might slip on the snow or ice. You devil you! Veto’ed!!!

(yes, I’m kidding)
