/players8 not saved over to new game

/players8 command used to persist to new games in the original Diablo 2.
Once you entered the /players8 command it was active until You exited the game client completely.
Currently You have to retype the command every time You ‘Save and Quit’ and start a new game on the same character.

You had to type that in the original Diablo too. Only PlugY made it so that it persists after you save & quit.

I clearly remember it persisting through games and all sources on the internet confirm it persisted until you close the game (1.10 and above). I never used PlugY.

Maybe. I remember typing it back in the days, could be wrong I guess.

Players X persisted in 1.14 so this is vanilla behavior. I hope they fix this soon.

Yeah it’s “/players x” not “/playersx” but came here to also say that I would like it the way it was in 1.14d where you didn’t have to type it every game. Really irritating. And it’s not just 8, it could be anything between >=2 && <=8.

actually /playersx will work as well. And everyone saying it persisted between games is correct. They will persist until you close out of D2L entirely.

PlugY adds these additional features:

  1. /players settings display as a message on game creation
  2. /players settings persist on a per-character basis even after completely exiting out of the game

I’m also missing this feature.
I think it would be great if we just had current players settings written down somewhere, like on minimap (could also only be visible if players > 1, to avoid UI clutter or something)
