When I set the players command to something (/players8) it works and everything scales up properly, but when I leave and make a new game it resets back to players1. Is anyone else having this issue or is it just me
I have it too.

that’s how it always worked. as annoying as it is to have to do that every time people forget things and they would eventually wonder why the hell all the monsters are so strong and not realize they’re still on 8p. would be nice if they just added this in options or quest log or something or at the char screen allow us to set monster difficulty.
This was in the OG D2 as well… if you type /players8 or whatever number press enter to send it then press enter again, up arrow, it will show the previous message and just resend it a bunch of times like 10+ times and it will persist through new games constantly until you set it to something else. Was the same case in the original.
Yeah, it used to carry over unless you closed the game, not sure why it doesn’t anymore, quite annoying.
No, the /players command would persist between games. This is no longer the case and should be considered a bug.
the enter it 10+ thing was to keep /players in chat so you could just press the up arrow in a new game, not to keep the active player count.
Thanks for reporting this, I was wondering why my XP and monster difficulty felt inconsistent. I also believe this a bug since I’m fairly certain your /players count was preserved between games, and plugy simply added more QoL to it by showing your playing count at the start of each game or things like that.
In the meantime, I’ve been copy-pasting “/players 8” in my chat when farming pindle, etc. At least you can make it a muscle-memory and it’s quick.
At the very least it should have an indicator of how many players in the map area text. Just say players X between the region and the difficulty. That way you can see at a glance without having to use an addon or whatever. But agree an actual default option toggle in option screen would be ideal, but still allow change on the fly.
