Purists claim it will ruin economy - i m sorry guys BOTS did that 15-17 years ago
It might stop clickbait games - telebaal (fools and horses action there)
It will stop ninja entering games just to annoy others or block their friends from coming into the game while you loot lower kurast or make them rehost the game (i did ninja actions)
What i think it will actually stop?
-People buying multiple cd keys than using them on vmware software to host games and imitate players 8 (blizzard loses profit this way)
-Same people mostly selling those items on various websites for real money or items in other games
-People who are sick of grab loot system (which is bottle of crap always was even when i was kid) so they can grab loot (less use of pickit or similar methods for that crap)
-Smaller groups of players hosting games yet gaining loot that they dont have to share with strangers!
Player 8 is already in the game and anyways and is abused by “fillers” who pay-to-win. Player x command just make it more available and helps fair individual - it isn’t anything novel and won’t have any dramatic effect. Magic find games are also already 99% private.
Honestly that thought occurred to me, it would be better if it was P5 too because than abusers who pay-to-win with fillers won’t have that much advantage (but will still have enough advantage for Blizzard to benefit from them purchasing more accounts).
Buy multiple accounts make shards on server let them all join stand idle you grind - i m system admin so yeah you can do that with little to no knowledge…
Adding /players 8 will never happened as much as I think it might be a good idea. I think it would be a great way to end the game sniping nonsense that saturates every public game these days.
But if they add this command line to battlenet, that just means that botters will not have to buy as many accounts in order to achieve /players 8. Blizzard is essentially losing seven accounts per account from the botters market – Which makes up probably most of its Diablo 2 revenue.
Blizzard doesn’t actually want to get rid of bots. If they did then they wouldn’t do banwaves that are predictable and allow for botting to go on for months at a time with no threat. If there were mass bannings every week, then it would not be profitable for the botters and we’d see them mostly leave. But why would Blizzard do that when they make most of their money from the bots?
They want botters to be profitable so that money can be turned around and laundered right back to blizzard via having to buy more accounts when there is a banwave. That’s the unwritten agreement the two parties have.
So there’s not a chance in hell they will be adding /players 8 to bnet. It’s a pointless discussion, beyond mental exercise.
Not purists, people who understand the game and it doesnt ruin just economy. It most importantly ruin group play. I am for changes but not for bad ones like this.
OP, No Thank You! D2 became D2R because it was popular years and years after it was originally launched. And no online ploot or players /x command is a part of why it was so popular for so long.
Single player awaits you, with all the Ploot and Players /8 you can handle.
