Physical Immunes undamaged by Dragon Tail Kick

I noticed a bug with physical immune monsters in hell difficulty that cannot be damaged by the fire damage component from the Assassin’s Dragon Tail.
The issue seems to occur when my barbarian mercenary performs his battle cry skill. The physical immune monsters affected by the merc’s battle cry can no longer be damaged by the fire damage component of the Dragon’s Tail kick.
I note that these physical immune monsters are NOT fire immune either.

Edit: the issue seems to happen even without the merc’s battle cry i have just noticed but not on all occasions

its not a bug, though maybe it can be considered an unintended mechanic. dragon tail is a conversion type skill, which means it takes the total physical damage dealt and converts it to another damage type. the pro of this is you gain scaling mechanics from both physical and fire. the downside is if the target is immune to physical, you convert 0, and if the target is immune to fire, you deal 0.

On testing, I think you might be right. Thanks for the explanation!

a little pro tip, for physical immunes, drag them to a non-physically immune monster, and kick that monster. the aoe dmg will kill the physical immune. the only immune you really have to deal with then is fire, but if you build dragon tail with some scaling physical, then just swap to dragon talon for fire immunes and kill them with that

That makes no sense, honestly. Theoretically the kick triggers an explosion and that explision should deal fire damage to monsters in an area.

The problem here is that the explision is not being triggered against physical immune monsters, which does not seem right. The monster should not take physical damage, but the fire damage should be applied.
