I’m gonna make it but I’ve no clue like no one does, I think we should make it on one hand for merc act V?? then we can have the other hand to equip?
Phoenix in a weapon is a bad idea, no ias no cb, your a2 merc will suck with it.
Even for non merc I would never make a phoenix in a weapon, there mid options that are way better already.
Why would you like to give the merc Phoenix? Its stats are either outright useless for the merc (procs, ML) or benefit only the wielder (-enemy res, Redemption).
Your subject mentions polearm, but hten you mention Act 5 merc. The popular Frenzy Act 5 Merc can only equip 1h swords, btw.
As others have said, Phoenix in a weapon on a merc really doesn’t make much sense. The Redemption Aura that is the main draw of Phoenix only effects the wielder, so the barb merc itself would be getting the life regen. Merc’s don’t have mana, so the mana regen would be useless, as would the mana stolen per hit. Similarly the -enemy fire res would only count for the barb, and he’s not going to be doing much fire damage anyway.
Yeah the 350-400% ED, Deadly Strike, and ITD are nice mods on a weapon, but for the price of VexVexLoJah there are definitely better options. Grief will be higher damage, has IAS, also has 20% DS (Lo Rune), and ITD and Lo+Mal are the only significant cost runes there. Act 5 mercs also do well with things like eOath, eHead Striker, eBotD, etc. Hell if you want to spend a lot of runes, you can throw a Last Wish PB on him for tons of CB and the Might Aura…
ty man, but " -enemy fire res would only count for the barb, and he’s not going to be doing much fire damage anyway" I think if I play fire druid I give this stat too? so I made it in phase blade already but not yet to noticed the results about the fire skills proc I focus on these cause I use a flickering flame though
if you say I don’t get the stat -enemy fire resist then I can let the other melee chars instead
I’m not sure but -enemy resist, on the others like crescent moon -lighting resist is work only sorc equiped? then I did a big mistake, but infinity has this stat too?
ahh I think I got a big misunderstood, so the best infinity used is nova sorc but I play lighting sorc I don’t equip myself I get only conviction. then if I played nova sorc should be better I will restat and try
This is not the case. The -res only works for the person wielding it. I’m not sure if sunder charms affects are universal, but that is another subject.
-res on Cmoon only works on the sorc.
Conviction is different because it is an AURA that gets applied to all enemies.
so I wasted some runes but not a big problem I will use them more or less. btw I like every sorc, blizzard, fire, lighting but not yet nova I should make it on ladder maybe next ladder cause it’s good to farm but really exhausted to create a new one
btw, Cmoon on Phase blade is too heavy for a sorc? and I loss fcr?
I can let my zeal pally weilding it just in case of holyshock
that’s why my doom is not work for my blizzard sorc on merc
then I use on my pally merc with conviction any elemental seems to be good
another subject I have learnt
Make it in a crystal sword or other really low requirement sword. And yes, you lose FCR but you can make up for it elsewhere.
It would be the same thing too btw when you make an infinity for a self weild nova sorc. Make it in a low requirement base that way you don’t waste stats because you’re not going to be hitting anything with the weapon itself anyway.
And that is correct on the doom for a blizz sorc, it has to be on the sorc itself.
So what you get from an infinity on your mercenary is just the conviction. Everything else works only on the merc. If however you build an infinity self wield sorc, you’ll get the conviction AND the -50ish light res which is really good.
yes I have to spend another um rune I prepare base already but I got the bad idea then I will try for my lighting sorc should be better
The -enemy fire res on the item will only be applied against fire damage from the character holding that item. So it doesn’t universally lower the enemy’s fire resistance, it lowers it when taking damage from the character holding that item. So only the fire damage done by the barb merc in this case would be improved, but he’s not likely doing any significant fire damage so…
Yes, it’s the same, only on the character that equips it.
Infinity is different because it has negative enemy lightning resist as an item attribute. This only works on who is wearing the Infinity. HOWEVER, it also has lvl 12 conviction aura. This effects all enemies in range, and therefore reduces resistance on the monsters for everyone.
yes, the reason nova sorcs self wield infinity is so they can get the enemy lightning res applied to their damage. When a merc wields Infinity you only benefit from the conviction aura, and the item’s negative lightning res only matters for the merc’s lightning damage.
how many infinity do you have so far, if we play the game we get more runes so at some point we can have a few infinity for lighting chars I think so far I’ve one. furyZon, lighting sorc is good for me I think I like to play this style than nova, umm I hold Cmoon and let my merc hold infinity it’s pretty strong maybe I don’t have to play NovaSorc
I mostly play melee builds, but I do have a self made poorly rolled Infinity on my Javazon’s A2 Merc.
Yeah I mean it’s really up to you if you can afford to make multiple or you can figure out how best to share via the shared stash, but some characters end up being better with Infinity on merc, and some want the -light res for themselves so they want to self wield. Infinity for self wield as a nova sorc you want something like a Scythe for low reqs. Self weild on a SpearZon you’d want to probably put it in a Amazon Spear base. For a Lightning Fury JavaZon you’d want to use javalins, which can’t have Infinity, so you’d want it on merc. Then you’d wear Titans, T-stokes, etc. based on what you like and have.
I’ve never played Nova Sorc so I’m not familiar with all the ins and outs, but I’m sure the guides have worked out the best optimization at this point. It seems to me that if you hold Cmoon in a 1h you can still pair it with Spirit Monarch and I think that’s still a common setup. Self wearing infinity gives you more -light res but you have to make other FCR trade offs that I think might push you to be more glass cannon. Never played a Nova Sorc so someone that actually does play them should be giving you advice, I’m a barb guy!
Based on previous questions and knowledge there is absolutely zero chance this is not hero edited SP or rmt MP.
I play both, melee and sorc, now I aim to be level 93 to craft something Barb is fun to play but slow exp gain have fun dude. btw berserk barb should be the most powerful I think if we can kill mons that fast with sundered charm, there are less magic immune though
Yeah I know the feeling. Just got my MF WW barb to 93 a few days ago. Have a few other Barbs in the 88-91 range and a bunch of other co-op play thru characters I run through with a friend that we often “finish” around mid 80s after killing Hell Baal and then starting another play through. I just usually start farming for gear mid 80s or starting a new character to play through, rather than chasing the XP. I also only get a few hrs a week to game, so my progress is slow anyway, let alone playing mostly melee.
In terms of Berserk, that playstyle is usually telestomp (or leap) into a unique/champ monster, Howl away the minions/trash and then 1 or 2 hit Zerk the unique or champ to death, hork, then go on to the next pack. I don’t think MIs are much of an issue, since as you said, they are rare anyway, and since this is already a unique/champ sniper, you could just skip any MI uniques.
I tend to prefer builds like Frenzy or WW where I deal Physical damage and then have 1 point + item skills into Berserk to take down PIs. Works well. I think I’ve encountered one Greater Mummy style monster in the Lost City that was PI (and they are all MI) that I couldn’t kill, but in general that Phys + Magic mix works quite well. One downside is PI ghosts steel mana, so if you can’t kill them before they leach your mana, you can’t Zerk anymore! One method around that which works well for my WW Barb is letting them engage merc first, so they try to steal his (non-existant) mana instead of mine while I zerk them dead in 1 or 2 hits. My Frenzy barb runs Grief with Lawbringer in Offhand, so undead PIs are a non-issue, and non-undead PIs (which are fairly rare anyway) mostly still get broken with decrep from Lawbringer, or a few Zerks which are super fast from Frenzy stacks and pack a punch from Grief.
we can make a lot of runewords if we play the game for years depends on trading though
I think I’ve trade for high rune many of them come from trade, and I have all necessary RWs so far. I have grief and lawbringer too that’s the best build for frenzy I think so far. no need the last wish except ubers I’ve not yet finished Ubers with Barb just halfway killed 2 of them by WWbarb and I switch to smiter for sure btw, Frenzy killed the 3 Barb gods very quickly so surprised. how can you describe? hehe just say
