Khalim’s Will has always been my favorite weapon to use on a lvl 1 alt. This flail has 1-15 damage, 50 ias, 40 AR, 1-40 lightning dmg, 6% dual leech, and 50% dmg to undead all with no level or stat requirements. It is probably the best melee weapon for an alt.
It is currently possible to offload your KW onto a mule before completing the quest. Once it is transferred to another character, if the character completes the compelling orb quest, it disappears. The game also recognizes if the flail does not match the game/difficulty you’re in. If you try to take a normal KW to nightmare, your character will tell you they cant use it.
It is already possible to mule it to another character on D2R. It is just a hassle because you have to collect all the pieces, drop it on the ground, leave the game, return with a different character, pick it up, leave, return with the original character, collect the pieces again, and finish the quest. It would be great if it were possible to just put it in the shared stash to cut out old school muling for this sweet item. As I understand it, the shared stash was created to eliminate the need for this type of muling altogether.
I am no programmer, but it seems like Blizzard could also easily prevent players from using this as an exploit to skip Act 3 by simply doing the same thing they have with different difficulties, make it so that it can only be used for quest completion by the character who cubed it. If an alt tries to use it to smoosh the orb, all they will get is “I can’t”.
This would not only help reduce the tedium of getting this item online, but it would also make it possible for singleplayer people to use the item too. There is currently no way for singleplayer to mule this item like you can online. As someone who mostly plays offline, and likes to turn a lvl 6 paladin into a tornado of fire and lightning madness, this frustrates me.
