Randomly while playing, the all audio sources will cut out and the audio output will play a loud static sound. It is fixed temporarily by switching to another audio output source, and then switching back to the desired output source. I have also tried leaving it on another audio output source, but the problem persists.
Same here.
It sucks not being able to get the full experience on the first play through after so many tears.
I have the same issue. I’m using a 3070 super with a 144hz screen 2560x1440
When I turn the max frame rate to <30fps the hissing goes away. Looking around online some people say it has to do with v sync but that option in the game doesn’t seem to help.
Can confirm, I have the same issue. (2080ti, 120hz, 1440p) There is a constant low volume hiss. It goes away with a framerate below 30fps. Vsync doesn’t seem to affect it.
I am getting a similar issue. Vsync does not help, and neither does dropping my frame-rate. It sounds like somebody put all of my audio through a Megatron voice-changer, than again through a Bumblebee Translator, but with the main language audio.
Quite obnoxious. Game audio is flawless, but anything outside of my game gets distorted and ruined beyond recognition.
Things I have tried
- Reinstalling DIIR. Small enough to download and reinstall it twice.
- Reinstalling ALL my audio drivers and software.
- Updating any and all drivers of any kind that I can find.
- Adjusting volume levels for various windows that are open. Closing and reopening.
- Restarted my computer several times through the updates.
- Changed every audio setting I have available.
- Checked my firewall (have legit had this be a problem with a game before)
- literally every fix I can find on the forums and on other websites, some of which just legit did not sound like they would work… which they did not.
At the moment, this is the only game I am having any technical issues with, so I feel like I can say that the problem is legit on Blizzard’s side.
Hopefully they see these kinds of things and fix them.
I like listening to music with my fancy Audio-Technica headset while I play games.
Kinda one of the only things I still enjoy.
did you fix the audio issue?
Same problem. Happend after the latest update. Any news on how to fix it? No matter the output (Realtek on MB, Headset, Nvidia High Definition Audio, Hyper X sound card) I have the same experience… after 5-10 min after launching the game I get a high pitch static sound that persists and covers any other sound
*Solved: it was the Realtek sound card on my MB. Bought a new one, stopped this one from BIOS and problem gone
Sound cutting out constantly. If i’m in the game and alt tabbing, its massacre across my entire soundstage. In every application the sound is cutting out.
Its the worst if I’m using Telekinesis on teleports. The sounds then cuts 10 times more than just walking through the portal. It is unbearable.
make sure to disable any audio enhancement softwares that may be running on your pc. for example i have to turn off Asus Sonic Studio in order to play.
Having audio issues myself. Not cutting out but constant static sound. Only happens while ingame so it’s not me.
December second and I am still having this god-awful issue. At first I thought my speakers were starting to die. I have mixed feelings about the fact that it’s just Blizzard refusing to fix an audio bug.
Anyone worked this out yet… Just bought Asus Z690 ROG Maximus HERO, still getting same issue… It is definately a fault with the game… not with hardware…
Frist March and still not fixed, they just don’t care at all.
2 works around, and it’s coming from fans and not Bilzzard (Did I said they don’t care at all ? They are too busy making a “diablo game” “”“free to play”"" on cellphones to milk profit).
So first work around is to mute the sound for a moment (5 or 10 mins) and put it back again.
Second work around is to switch audio input and switch it back.
Yup, original post is since September 2021 and they didn’t bother to answer it, so fixing it will probably never happen.
THis literally fixed it for me.
Output device Properties
Advanced TAB
Uncheck- Enable Audio Enhancements.
Uncheck - Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.
Apply
Ok.
YW.
Turning off audio enhance has stopped the static for now but there are still clear audio lag and cutouts on a high-end pc, this is stupid af.
Guys i MIGHT have just found the solution. I had this issue for a long time now, it started after i switched from my laptop to new PC. It was happening with two different sets of headphones, both of which work perfectly in any other game. What solved the problem for me was switching to wireless headphones (specifically Koss Porta Pro Wireless, but i have a feeling this is probably about not using a cable rather than a specific model of headphones). Give it a try if youre still having this issue. Hope it helps.
I had a similar problem. Sound was intermittently interrupted. I turned off all audio devices on my PC (except Realtek) using the control panel (in my case it was Nvidia High Definition Audio and Razor Surround Audio Controller). After that, I switched my speakers from my monitor mini-jack to the motherboard mini-jack of the PC. After that, the problem was solved.
